I see a female ref, Rebecca Welsh, was in charge at Direby v Pompey yesterday. Is that the first one?
Spot on BfB. Given our ref v Coventry I question whether he’ll be the first black ref to do a City game; I’m sure that Uriah Rennie never did a City game?
12th August 2005, 1.3 home defeat to Watford. He also did a later away loss at the Wurzels, 0.1, 15th December 2007.
I should have checked as I now recall Steve Thompson being sent off by that clown of a ref and it was a terrible decision) Trundle & Lee Johnson were playing which didn’t help Dave Jones wasn’t happy and don’t blame him
The ref tonight was absolutely abysmal; out of his depth at this level. So inconsistent. That was his championship debut - if he was a player making his debut he’d be straight back into the stiffs next game.
I wasn't too unhappy until about the 70th minute. He let a few things go for both sides to keep the game flowing. But from that point he lost the plot. When Etete was brought down, in line with me, surely the defender was last man = straight red.
Macho Man Steve Martin tomorrow. He missed out on us last season - had 3 outings the previous season which resulted in a solitary draw and 2 losses. He’s been card happy in the 4 games he’s done this season - 1 red & 23 yellow.
Leigh Doughty up for us v Rotherham Mixed results over the past few seasons. Last seen in our 3-1 win at Birmingham in the Caraboa Cup recently
Tony Harrington up next at Boro. Not reffed us since 2020 season - home loss to Norwich & away win at Stoke.
Been dreading when he’d next appear after his error v Coventry last season - it’ll be difficult enough against 11 but 12
Well as expected we witnessed today another display of absolute incompetence from Blobby. Keith Stroud is like Jack Taylor by comparison. He should be seriously looked at by the EFL as he’s not up to parks standard. Hopefully let’s pray we’ll never see him again. Anyway onto Huddersfield where it’s a newbie for us (as far as I can see) Anthony Backhouse.
Well there's a turnup for the books. We've got the hapless Darren England against the Wurzels on Saturday for his first game back in charge after his VAR debacle in the Spurs/Liverpool game.
I thought he did really well. The window licking, bin dippers who have had so many dodgy decisions in their favour feel so entltled when one goes against them. Lol!!! The ref was the little, not so fat now, twat, Simon Hooper, who has been nowhere near us, yet, this season. Thankfully.
He did our 0.0 draw at Cov last Christmas. Done 2 Jacks games this season. A 3.0 win and their 1.3 Leicester defeat last weekend. DragonPhil said the ref was poor. As we would after such a loss.
