Useful little partnership between Rashid and Wood gets us up to 282 which is very defendable.

 

First time in an ODI that all 11 batsmen in a team make double figures.

 

Sam Curran has bowled 2 overs and has figures of 1-0. Brilliant.

 

Apart from Curran, England bowling without any discipline.

 

This looks like a spanking right now.

 

It's 7 overs in, the PP is still going and spin hasn't been brought on yet. Far too early to say that.

 

Right now it doesn’t look great. I don’t think it is is too early to say that. We desperately need a wicket.

 

Judging from the fact there is little on offer to bowlers here. Looking worse now!

 

New Zealand barely bowled a bad ball. We have barely bowled a good one.

Rashid has 60 balls - he needs to make them count.

 

If they don't go for 90 runs he has done well compared to the rest of the bowlers...

 

Outside of the UK - pretty much anywhere else in the world - Conway is world class.

But over here, he is bang average.

You've gone from it is too early to say that, to Rashid needs to do well, to we might get dicked but chill!

It is a poor performance against a really good performance. There are plenty of bad teams and we can pull this back but this is not the start England would have wanted.

 

No it's not the start we would have wanted but this England team has proved time and time again they can bounce back quickly. And one wicket could still change this game.

 

Yeah, one poor performance doesn't mean much. We lost 3/9 in 2019 and that turned out okay!

 

The Kiwis will be happy that they are exacting some kind of revenge for 2019 but yeah very early days in the competition yet.

 

Taking the positives we haven’t peaked too early.
