Will be lucky to make it to the semi finals IMHO .

I think India will win the cup , but if it can be England picking up the Trophy , then I want the Kiwi’s to do it .

Allways had a soft spot for them

On current form Liam Dawson should be out there, no doubt about it.

Three of the four players left out today were seamers. Just supporting my view that we picked too many.

Whether it be Dawson, or Roy, or someone else - there was easily scope to leave out one of the seamers in favour of a different option.

This is brilliant from Holland so far. Really good to see - they do have some decent talent in their squad; not world class, but decent.

It's a bit sad to see such empty stadiums at a Cricket World Cup. With Pakistan playing I thought there would be more spectators than what we saw yesterday.

It's worth pointing out their stadiums are massive. Most hold well over 100,000.

and after 2019 it would be fitting. Not that they deserved to win it more than we did, but considering how close it was and those runs off stokes' dive to the crease, it would be great to see them win this one (assuming we dont)

No, they don't.. Other than Ahmedabad which is outrageously big and has never been close to full, no cricket stadium in India comes close to 100k...
You're right. Most still hold 50k+ plus which is still a huge capacity for cricket matches.

Oh absolutely 50k is a huge venue.

Both the Modi and MCG are just vanity stadiums that barely reach capacity.

The best cricket grounds for me are the Oval, ****hede and the Wanderers that are all around 33k-ish.

Love watching SA bat. They might not bat deep, but the batters who they do have are just so destructive.

QDK and Markram in particular are a delight to watch.

Bit early to say, but does anyone think that the downgrading of one day county cricket for The Hundred is beginning to have a negative impact on English one day international cricket?

One of my problems with The Hundred was that I thought it would severely degrade one day cricket here.

No. The IPL or the Big Bash hasn't hindered Indian and Australian international cricket so not sure why the Hundred would for ours.

Did they kneecap domestic one day cricket in the same way to run the IPL or Big Bash?

My issue is The Hundred and One Day cup are run concurrently.

Genuine question.

The recent warm-up ODI series between us and NZ was the first time that Conway had played ODI cricket since Janaury. I think I read that he hasn't played a domestic one-day game for two years. In the meantime, he's been playing t20 cricket all round the world - including the 100.

It didn't seem to do him any harm on Thursday.
