A quick google brings up 86/87 and Ron Atkinson's 6 losses and a draw from 8 games. You actually hold the record for the worst start of all time in English top-flight football, though. 12 consecutive losses in 1930/31 when you unsurprisingly got relegated: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1930–31_Manchester_United_F.C._season Didn't know that.
I'm actually old enough to remember what I was doing when Ron was sacked and feeling shocked and disappointed by it. But also remember those first few years under Fergie. I think Ten Hag's not the problem, he's a good manager and is going through similar. I'm happy to give him time.
Lautaro Martinez comes off the bench at 0-0 and scores 4: Nobody's done that in Serie A's modern era ('94 onward). No idea why no Premier League team has splashed the cash for him. Surely the Mount or Havertz money plus a little more would've been better spent there?
Heard Rice on motd saying "he scored a high pressure penalty to show his worth to the team" They were already 2 up when he was given it outta pity
Weirdest thing about Arsenal doing everything to play Havertz into form (as well as even signing him in the first place!) is that they’ve got an academy graduate suffering for it. Smith-Rowe isn’t a world beater but a tidy enough player in my opinion, barely kicked a ball this season for them now. Imagine he’ll be looking for an exit come January and I’d say on the basis of recent seasons, Arsenal would be losing the better player.
How nice for Spurs to be on the nice end of a ref/var screw up.I thought this only happened to the likes of Fergie/United and the Arsenals of this world.Long may it continue for us. They were throwing this "hadn't beaten Liverpool since.......serves 'em right!" COYS!
Going from memory ... 1. the guy on the left was Bryan Robson 2. Given then Big Rons' known love of "bling" (you can see some around his neck) , it goes something like : Should I go 4-4-2 ?? Robson replies : What, formation, boss ?? Then Ron holds up his hand covered with rings, and replies : No. Diamonds, sapphires and emeralds.
I don't think he's offering much of a solution either to be honest, mate. Outside perspective of course but he just comes across a bit lost. Probably doesn't help he's got the personality of a soaking wet cardboard box but over a year into the job there's not really any signs of his imprint on the team despite spending a small fortune. He's had the backing to make some big calls too; Ronaldo sale and not choosing to keep de Gea, plus the Sancho stuff albeit I make him 100% right on that. Just feels like he's plodding along.
Brentford should've had a penalty against Forest: https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/16x319s/matt_turner_is_pressured_miss_kicks_and_takes_out/ It's now the lead story everywhere, as they dropped 2 points...
