Man Utd have been drawn at home against the Saudis in the 4th round of the League Cup.
This is their 12th consecutive home draw in the domestic cups.
That's a probability of something like 0.02%. Bent. As. ****.

They reached both cup finals last season without being drawn away once.
The season before they were knocked out by Boro and West Ham at Old Trafford.

I don't have all the data to hand to do the calculation but my educated guess would be that Man Utd and about 10 other clubs have played upwards of 400 Cup ties and if so there would be a very high probability that at least one club would have a sequence of 12 consecutive home ties.

It's supposedly a British record, surpassing Shrewsbury's 11 from 2017 to 2019.
Utd's last away draw was away to Leicester. They lost, despite a goal from a rapist.

If your conspiracy theory was true, Utd wouldn’t have been paired with Newcastle (or any of the other PL teams we’ve drawn on a regular basis in this time).
The odds on a home draw are 50/50. Obviously, the chances are repeatedly getting a home draw are much longer, but at every draw it’s still 50/50. It’s the sand with winning the toss at cricket. Ben Stokes is having a good run with that too, but it hasn’t always proved to be an advantage.

Giving a team an advantage doesn't mean that they have to give them every advantage.
The Calciopoli scandal, for example, didn't result in one team winning everything.
Having a finger on the scale still isn't right though, is it?

In a completely unrelated matter, we've got Simon Hooper as our ref this week.
You may remember him from Man Utd's win over Wolves and his subsequent ban... <whistle>

Sounds about right for my guesstimate of the number of matches played. No evidence of anything wrong at all. Shrewsbury is probably more of an outlier as I imagine they will have played many fewer ties.

What evidence would you expect to find?

Shay Given and Izzy Christiansen drew the balls this time.
I doubt Shay Given would have engineered a Utd v Newcastle tie.
Or maybe he would <laugh>

Quality finish.
Moumbagna's not done much before this season, but he's killing it for Bodo/Glimt.
19 in 32 for the Norwegians and 7 assists, too.

Getafe have condemned "derogatory and intolerant" chants aimed towards their team after Mason Greenwood was targeted by opposition fans:

<laugh> ****ing hell. The brass neck.

Delighted to see La Liga takes this far more seriously than racist chants against black players. They've got their priorities right in that league, they really do.

None because it's an entirely normal event given the number of matches drawn out of the pot. If there was something dodgy happening then I doubt Shrewsbury would be showing up second
What would you expect to find if it was dodgy?
