This is unreal. Full plaudits to McKenna and his coaching staff, our new American owners, and of course of a squad of players that are motivated and fully bought into the club's vision.

Is it bad that I'm still a bit apprehensive for when this is all potentially going to go off the rails? How much longer can these good times last? As long-suffering Ipswich fans, I think we'll always have that fear - but we are playing some of the best football this relatively young 32-year-old has ever seen at Portman Road.

After the pain and decline of the Keane and Jewell years, the dull stagnation under McCarthy, the false dawn of Hurst, the ineptitude of Lambert, and the underwhelming Cook stint - we're finally seeing what a well-coached, progressive young team is capable of doing. Evans selling up and getting these owners in is possibly the most important milestone in our club's recent history. They're showing what you can do with sensible investment (both on and off the pitch) and actually engaging with supporters and being thoughtful in their coaching and playing recruitment.

My fear is we are now doing so well 2023 has been insane that even the big big clubs might now be considering McKenna

Fulham in the 4th. Not a huge step up from Wolves. But another huge test.

I think with another month of development, no reason why we can't make it through.

This is proper football now lads. Ever since the ‘our form is awful’ thread our form has been spectacular - but we also have the confidence that if we lose some momentum we know the club will keep doing the right things.

We are starting to get to the point when Premier League sides will come knocking but I think for a little while at least, McKenna is not going to risk derailing his career whilst things are so rosy at Ipswich.

Does that mean I was the catalyst for our success?

Have to say it does make some interesting reading...things weren't great then and looking at some of the things we were being critical of in terms of our play they were addressed to perfection, it seems like the 4 January signings made a huge difference but not only that we went from a team seemingly trying to pass other teams to death to being completely ruthless and pragmatic and getting the ball forward quicker. It very much felt like McKenna went from being ideological to pragmatic

Considering that only Hladky and Hutchinson started the previous match this really was our reserve team !! And although im sure Wolves made some changes as well there was also some regular Prem players in their side and after 15 minutes i was starting to fear the worst, but we played our way back into the game and although they had a few dangerous breaks there was only one team controlling the match, so all in all it was an astonishing performance by The Blues capped by a terrific goal by Taylor after some brilliant football in the build up.
Portman Rd is a fabulous place to be on match day but more than that its a happy place to walk away from after the match with fans still singing all the way to the railway station, compare that to the dross on the pitch and the depressing walk home after the match of a few years ago, the place is buzzing.

So impressive to see our second team look so assured against a PL side albeit their second team but one made up of multi million pound footballers. Again this is progress whilst I always said last season our second team would've been competing near the top of league 1 some of the cup performances were quite disjointed which can be expected given the high number of changes but this season whilst there are some teething issue even the second team look like a cohesive unit.

Whilst I like I'm sure many fans think now that McKenna is a god like manager, with hindsight I do find it hard to be overly critical of those managers who have gone before him due to their circumstances. Its like comparing pears and apples.

I'm sure even McKenna would've struggled under ME.
