Who do we want next round, big prem team or league 1 team at home. I'm praying for league 1 team at home, I wanna get into the quarter final
Just watched the highlights, goodness me, what a night! That is is our B team? We have a squad that looks Premier League quality. Keeping everyone happy and on the right path is one heck of a challenge though. As for Taylor's goal, wow!
there are three teams ( 4 if Lincoln beat West ham) league 1 & lower still left in & at least one other championship side so maybe !
I know Taylor and Hutchinson will rightly get all the plaudits but special shout out to Baggott.....I thought he was outstanding!!
This is unreal. Full plaudits to McKenna and his coaching staff, our new American owners, and of course of a squad of players that are motivated and fully bought into the club's vision. Is it bad that I'm still a bit apprehensive for when this is all potentially going to go off the rails? How much longer can these good times last? As long-suffering Ipswich fans, I think we'll always have that fear - but we are playing some of the best football this relatively young 32-year-old has ever seen at Portman Road. After the pain and decline of the Keane and Jewell years, the dull stagnation under McCarthy, the false dawn of Hurst, the ineptitude of Lambert, and the underwhelming Cook stint - we're finally seeing what a well-coached, progressive young team is capable of doing. Evans selling up and getting these owners in is possibly the most important milestone in our club's recent history. They're showing what you can do with sensible investment (both on and off the pitch) and actually engaging with supporters and being thoughtful in their coaching and playing recruitment.
Nuggets, just enjoy the good times while they’re here (or as KMc frequently says, enjoy the journey). We will in due course hit our ceiling,I suspect if we go up this Season that might be our wake-up call, but I’d love to be proved wrong.
Nuggets, 32 yrs old?! I can say at a senior age of 74 I have not seen a Town team play so consistently well in all my years of watching, like 64 yrs. Yes, we will find it tougher in the Prem, but I am confident the Club management will approach, plan, resource and develop such a big step in a thoroughly professional way.
I can picture KMc going down the line of players as they leave the dressing room...."You're dog s**te,and you're dog s***te and so are you!!"
Nah, still think he is dog ****e!! Gaffer, obviously your dementia is playing tricks with you coz this team is nowhere near that of the late 70s/ early 80s!! That team was, imo, comfortably in the top 10 of all British clubs ever, probably top 5!!
Maybe its all the excitement after years of dog**te we have had! Sir Bobby and Mariner, Beattie, Warky & co would have been proud of this lot.
This is proper football now lads. Ever since the ‘our form is awful’ thread our form has been spectacular - but we also have the confidence that if we lose some momentum we know the club will keep doing the right things. We are starting to get to the point when Premier League sides will come knocking but I think for a little while at least, McKenna is not going to risk derailing his career whilst things are so rosy at Ipswich.
Trip down memory lane bringing that old thread up - Our Form is awful | Not606 Glad to see sometimes I do talk the occasional bit of sense, among all those paragraphs
Considering that only Hladky and Hutchinson started the previous match this really was our reserve team !! And although im sure Wolves made some changes as well there was also some regular Prem players in their side and after 15 minutes i was starting to fear the worst, but we played our way back into the game and although they had a few dangerous breaks there was only one team controlling the match, so all in all it was an astonishing performance by The Blues capped by a terrific goal by Taylor after some brilliant football in the build up. Portman Rd is a fabulous place to be on match day but more than that its a happy place to walk away from after the match with fans still singing all the way to the railway station, compare that to the dross on the pitch and the depressing walk home after the match of a few years ago, the place is buzzing.
Wow, I said everyone was being over dramatic, to take a chill pill and said we would go on a great run. Said I had complete faith in KM!!! That is very unlike me and not once did I criticise harness, insane!!!
