Are useless refs included in these made up stats?
Mine aren't made up though, just data taken from over 10,000 games, thus statistically my figures will take into account useless refs, useless players and useless managers

As much as I love a stat, and an Aski stat in particular, they can’t factor in injury to key players or just a loss in form. It’s a slog this division, anyone can beat the other. Let’s just hope we can keep the winning run goingI couldn't be arsed to type in an explanation
Explanations available on the site.
The data does suggest we've had a supposedly easy set of fixtures so far.

Now I’m not sure if I should be calm or more worriedand I agree, else I would have won the pools every week for the last 25+ years
Stats are great for keeping you calm when we fail to win though, as last season only 4 teams managed to win more than 50% of their home games where as the average for home wins was 43% . Even the season we won the Championship, only 4 teams managed a better than 50% win record at home, and one of those was Preston, who didn't even make the play offs![]()

Am I the only one who hasn't a clue about this stats convo? Please put me out of my misery - is it good news or bad news?![]()
Exactly, that's why politicians love them. With stats it can be whatever you want it to be![]()

I got a splitting headache trying to figure them out. Went back to my tried and testedAsk Eire

Maybe you're forgetting we've played 2nd & 4th in the table both away from home and taken 4 points from them. Now I love a good stat, but these ones are a bit irrelevant after so few games. They’ll be relevant for predicting difficulty of future fixtures as the season goes on but after 8 games? They’re hugely skewed. It looks like the top clubs have had easy fixtures because they won them all,(and haven’t had to play themselves!) and the bottom clubs have had tough fixtures because they lost them all… and haven’t had to play themselves
Factoring in home and away form is again helpful after a significant amount of games but at this stage of the season it only serves to reduce the data set and skew results more.

Might not mean much but it augurs well for our away form at least.
) I thought it was a tough start based on how I expected teams to do this year
Means bugger all if they end up 2nd & 4th bottom of the table at the end of the season (when everyone is beating them)!Maybe you're forgetting we've played 2nd & 4th in the table both away from home and taken 4 points from them.

The only saving grace being….. neither did theyYep. We smashed Chelsea 3-0 early last season and we were qualifying for the CL according to some. Didn't quite pan out that way.
