I don't mind that.

The SoL is built over the entrance to Wearmouth Pit.
The box should commemorate this and many of The Miners that worked down there will have been N/C Fans.
They too have their place in it's history.

And that’s what I will be saying the next time a mag mentions it to me…

And them putting a scum top in the memory box under the centre circle

And taking photos of themselves wearing skunk tops on site messing about and putting them on the internet. It wasn't many, mind, but it earned a bad rep at the time when there were a few delays on it.

But, saying that, when the Leazes stand extension was built, some lads fans working on it put one of our shirts in the foundations as a joke. The mags did not take that well! :emoticon-0102-bigsm

That shirt has probably worked it’s way out of the foundations now based on the state of the ground :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Some years ago, the Head Groundsman at Newcastle Racecourse was one of US.

Having a wry sense of humour, every year he had a couple of flower beds, just after the main entrance, planted up, all with only, red and white flowers.

No one ever complained, probably the 'joke' passed them by.

You might also want to tell him/her that we are rather more sporting towards them, than they are to us.

For example, we have a statue erected outside of our stadium of a former N/C player. a FA Cup Winner with them, who supported them all his life, including while he managed us.
Bob Stokoe is a HERO to most of us, despite his unfortunate addiction to NUFC.

when did he come on? And how did he do?

I was travelling back from a weekend away.

Regressed to my earlier days and refused to read any reports when I heard the result

At the worst possible time just after they scored. Didn't have much chance to do anything it was so congested with Cardiff players but he looked quick and keen to press and defend from the front.
