It is not 'Hull's Cup Final', We were in the real FA Cup Final when you were still pissing about in league 1. So keep the condecending rubbish out of it please. We have no history with you and even I will admit you were a real force under Revie and Leeds is a lovely city, but today? just another championship team. I'm looking forward to tonights game and not because its against Leeds, I just like mid week games under the lights. City are playing some decent stuff and we have a couple of new signings who may or may not start tonight but both are excellent. Watched Leeds v a very poor Millwall on Sunday, good three points there but come on, Millwall were awfull. There best player was Ryan Longman who couldn't get a game at Hull. Prediction? Heart 2-0 to City, head, 1-1.
So did Bobby Collins. In his first game as Hull City manager we beat Spurs 2-0, then beat Cardiff 4-1 days after.
Leeds at home is a big game for you lot. It will probably be your biggest gate of the season, certainly for midweek games. Let's not pretend it wasn't the first fixture the majority of your fan base looked for when the fixtures were announced. For us to come to Hull on a wet and windy Wednesday night with 2 days less preparation than you is a tough ask. The Hull squad will want to put a marker down for the season after a very good start. The fans will obviously be up for it too. Tough fixture after Millwall away 3 days ago. I genuinely feel that we have a very good chance of losing tonight. I'm hoping we pinch a scrappy game but I'm not expecting it.
As the ground is sold out, it will by definition be our highest gate of the season, it could be matched but it won't be beaten.
Watched Southampton v Ipswich on the red button last night and it crashed a couple of times but better than nothing.
It’s a big game in that it’s a Yorkshire derby, but playing Leeds doesn’t feel any more of a big occasion than playing Rotherham or Doncaster to me. Though Doncaster have beaten us this season . I hope you enjoy the game, it’ll be a full blooded affair and two attacking teams going at it will be a great watch for the neutral. Worried about being caught on the break, but hopefully after Friday we’ve practiced tightening up when the opposition is in behind. Gnoto vs Coyle gives me cause for concern. Might be better off with Christie, but he flatters to deceive when he starts and Coyle against his former club will be well up for this. And of course, we can both be in agreement that the Wendies’ current state of affairs is very, very funny.
Considering it's one of the few football league clubs within 60 miles of Hull, it's bound to attract a bit more attention than most others. But we used to sell out for York, Doncaster and Scunthorpe back kn the day, so Leeds aren't special in that regard. As for me? I'm only really bothered because I grew up and still live among you, but it would be the same if I'd grown up a Hull City fan in Cardiff or Bristol or Stoke
So you will all be glad to know I'm unable to watch the game tonight as I'm at work so we're going to win.
