Boro have started the season very poorly. Bottom of the league with few goals scored and a lot conceded. We all know how this will go. Martin will play strikers in midfield, midfielders in defence and set the team up to pass it about and give it away on the edge of our box. Prediction: Middlesbrough 3-1 Southampton
He can still turn it around. He just needs to stop being so naive. If I was manager I’d play: Adams Fraser Alcaraz Stu Downes Charles Manning THB Bednarek Kwp Bazunu For me Adam Armstrong offers nothing even at this level. I would drop manning if I could but obviously larios isn’t rated. Although manning has been that bad I’d be tempted the swap anyway. Keep the full backs wide instead of coming into the centre circle and leaving acres behind them.
I can see us wining this one. Reason? I am lumping my winnings from the Ipswich game (£40) on a Boro win. I never win a bet normally. Two on the trot is as likely as a Saints clean sheet #Onefortheteam
Bazunu KWP Charles THB Manning Smallbone Downes A Armstrong Edozie Adams Fraser Will be the team and we all know it What should be the team is Bazunu KWP Bednarek THB Anyone not named Manning Alcaraz Charles S Armstrong Edozie Adams Sulemana
I'd go with the same team, bar maybe Edozie in for Fraser. Not a biggie though, happy for either to start. RE: Manning. We could always try KWP on the left and Bree on the right. I reckon Bree has to be better than Manning.
I don’t hate that idea. I am shocked at Manning. Considering he is supposed to be the one player used the system. I have never seen a professional football player give it away so much
OK, how's this for a theory? We lost 5-0 to Sunderland, 4-1 to Leicester, then 1-0 to Ipswich. Statisticians would see this as a clear upward trend, from -5 to -3 to -1, which clearly means that we'll win 1-0 on Saturday. This will then be followed by a 3-0 win, then 6-1, then... Alternatively, RM will set the team up with the same starting XI and the same tactics, and Boro will claim their first victory
Hilarious people thought he would be an upgrade on Perraud when he was signed. The guy is 27 and never played above the Championship, for obvious reasons
Bottom of the league…what could go wrong. Never underestimate Saints ability to clutch defeat from jaws of victory. Yes, I am royally pissed off and will remain so until kick off when hope foolishly will rear its head
Martin has to find a way to win this. Don't care if the winning goal comes from a massive hoof down field just win the bloody game.

#Onefortheteam[/QUOTE] I like hoofs up the field....I used to play for a coach whose mantra was: 1. "Don't fanny about in your own penalty area, take no chances, welly it upfield." 2. "Take the occasional risk in midfield but generally play the ball forward" (just to be clear: note to Rissole Martian, playing forward means away from your own goal) 3. "Always do the unexpected as you approach the opposions penalty area." Only reservation I have about the hoof is that you need a couple of taller players who take pride in the physical part of the game which we don't appear to have.
We don’t need to do any hoofing, we just need to play players in their positions, and let them play football like they all know how to do.
Lots of Boro fans at my football group. All saying the same as Saints fans. Manager trying to copy Pep with possession football but without the players to do it. Very dischuffed with season so far. I tried to cheer them up by saying Saints is actually run as a charity to donate goals to deserving teams, ie any team Saints are playing. Not sure they are convinced.
I don't know about best player but certainly offers a lot more than the current player(s) in that position.
