"ruined" They made it more realistic . It has data on nearly every footballer in every country in the world, it would be a bit of a let down if there wasn't some more meta features alongside the team building part of it. There was in previous versions a mode which was a simplified version. The career mode is detailed, but there's a more refined career mode that I think removes some of what I imagine you consider extraneous stuff.
Sort of related and interesting I think - I read a while ago about how Ben Brereton Diaz came to be called up by Chile. Basically there was an interview in a matchday programme where he mentioned his mum's Chilean roots, and it didn't make much of a splash but was noticed by a Blackburn fan who was responsible for providing detailed player information for Football Manager. He submitted that Chile should be included as his secondary nationality in the game based on this interview, but initially it was rejected by the developers because it was messing things up: they'd run simulations on the datasets and were finding that if he had this secondary nationality the game would end up with him being called up to Chile's squad and banging goals in for them 9 times out of 10. They felt this was ridiculous and unrealistic so didn't want to include it but ultimately relented. When the update made it into the game, Chileans noticed his success in the game and began campaigning for him to be called up in real life, which he soon was of course.
Quite interesting interview with Bora Aydnik... https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/bora-aydnlk-acun-ilicali-hull-8743367
Bora Bora Bora! Doesn’t sound like he’s been signed for the U21s though. Hopefully he isn’t rushed into the first team, sounds like he has a calm head on his shoulders and is willing to be patient.
Clearly got ambition and confidence, had to smile when he said of Rosenior (bearing in mind he's just 18) 'he's a young, confident coach' Maybe he'll be the one who's good enough so he's old enough? edit: He's also quite tall
They're an oil rich country who are aware that the oil won't last forever, so they're using their substantial wealth to buy up other things that can keep them rich long into the future. Not just football or just sports even, but they've invested in a huge amount of stuff that makes money in the western world. Specifically in football, I suppose the plan is that it eventually becomes a successful league to rival the top European ones in terms of TV rights etc, and provides them with another long term finance stream.
Has the Philogene squad issue been sorted yet? I can’t see that he’s been given a squad number yet, it seems to be dragging on a bit. Seems highly unusual.
For the Leeds game there are just 23 seats left in the bowl, after that it’s just west upper… I can see it being a sell out come game night…
And a fair few will be Hull and East Yorkshire ****es who the stewards will let remain there contrary to ground regulations. Any City fans objecting will have them on their backs though. Citybfans in home areas at Leeds would not get such an easy ride.
The last time was there was away fans in the East Stand, they got a slap and the stewards threw them out.
He's squad number 23 and he's all signed since deadline day. There was something behind the scenes that had to be tweaked but I doubt it was ever an issue, just meant that he wasn't initially posted on the EFL website squad list. If there was any danger of him not actually being registered I expect we'd know about it.
