Was reminiscing with some friends over the weekend about stuff we did/watched/liked back when we were kids and how simple life was back in the day.

So what types of things do you fondly (or not so fondly) remember?

Stuff which jumped out to me....

  • Watching the Fall Guy, A Team, and Buck Rodgers (ohh Wilma!)....
  • Eating Pacers.... and buying 1/2 penny sweets
  • The introduction of 20p pieces and thinking how cool they were at the time
  • Riding my chopper around town with the rest of the lads, building dens and only going home when it was dark
  • Record players and getting pissed of when one got scratched
  • Finding porn mags in the bushes
  • Taking the empty glass bottles back to the shop to get some cash
  • Long hair as my parents wanted to save money on hair cuts
  • Making haloween lanterns out of small swedes
  • Using a bakelite phone.
  • The advent of phone cards
  • Buying ciggies individually
  • Teachers who threw board rubbers at you or sent you off to get 'the slipper'
  • The advent of punk and all those strange hair do's
  • Milkmen
  • The introduction of seat belts in the back of the car
  • Watching Jim fix it every week
  • 3-2-1 with Ted Rodgers on a Saturday night.
  • The professionals on a Friday night.
  • The eurovision song contest when bucks fizz won and loving the bit where the skirts get whipped off
  • Our first VHS video recorder which cost my dad, at the time £450.

I once found a black widow slingshot in the bushes near my house. Had a few goes with it with stones and nearly killed myself with it so input it back exactly where I found it.

A couple of days later on local news turns out an armed robbery had taken place where the weapon used was you guessed it. A slingshot.

I told my parents who contacted the police. Did a report and took them to where the slingshot was.

But it wasn’t there. The police thought I was wasting their time.

Ah the good old days.

Throwing rocks at cars
Blocking roads with objects
Putting out greenhouses
Arson
Beating people up
Milking
Lighting wireworks through people's letter boxes
Smashing lampposts
Hedge lowping
Getting chases from the polis was peak

Reactions: Munson.
Used to love watching 3-2-1 as it was so bad it was hilarious.

You had to be insane to have a chance at understanding the clue.

Also loved Hawaii 5-0for the same reason. It was so bad it was good.

FFS Can imagine Hungs list already......

Watching Jesus of Nazereth preach to the people.
Stoning Adulterous women.
Crucifixtions of murderers.
Games at the Arena.
Visits to the bath house.
Market days selling our wares from the carpentry shop.
throwing stones at the Praetorian guards helmets and running away.
