    LIVERPOOL PLAYERS ON INTERNATIONAL. DUTIES

Cody Gakpo and Virgil van Dijk have been included in the Netherlands’ squad for their Euro 2024 Group B qualifiers against Greece and the Republic of Ireland respectively.

They could meet clubmates Caoimhin Kelleher and Kostas Tsimikas in those matches, too, with Oranje’s home clash with Tsimikas’ Greece taking place on Thursday September 7 followed by a trip to Dublin to meet Kelleher’s Republic of Ireland three days later.

Kelleher and Ireland visit Parc des Princes for a game versus France – for whom Ibrahima Konate has withdrawn due to injury – on September 7 and, after their trip to Eindhoven, Tsimikas and Greece host Gibraltar on September 10.

Diogo Jota, Andy Robertson and Dominik Szoboszlai are also set to be involved in European Championship qualifying action.

Jota and Portugal visit Slovakia on September 8 and host Luxembourg on September 11, Robertson’s Scotland travel to Cyprus on September 8, and Szoboszlai’s Hungary travel to Serbia on September 7 and welcome Czechia to Budapest three days later.

After their match in Larnaca, Scotland host England in a friendly at Hampden Park on September 12. Trent Alexander-Arnold has withdrawn from England’s squad for that fixture and their Euros qualifier versus Ukraine due to injury.
rounds of CONMEBOL qualification fixtures for the 2026 World Cup.
Alisson Becker’s Brazil welcome Bolivia on September 8 and visit Peru four days later, while Luis Diaz and Colombia host Venezuela on September 7 and travel to Chile on September 12.
Alexis Mac Allister’s World Cup holders Argentina begin their qualifying campaign with a home clash with Ecuador on September 7 prior to a trip to Bolivia on September 12, and Darwin Nunez and Uruguay meet Chile at home (September 8) and Ecuador away (September 12).
Elsewhere, Mohamed Salah’s Egypt meet Ethiopia in Africa Cup of Nations qualifying in Cairo on September 8 and are then scheduled to face Tunisia in a friendly on September 11, while Wataru Endo’s Japan will play friendlies against Germany (September 9) and Turkey (September 12).
Three of Jürgen Klopp’s Reds are in their countries’ U21 squads.

Stefan Bajcetic is part of Spain’s party for their 2025 U21 Euros qualifiers versus Malta (September 8) and Scotland (September 11), with Ben Doak among the Scottish squad set to visit Jaen for the second of those matches.

Finally, Harvey Elliott is in England’s squad for their Euros qualifier away to Luxembourg on September 11.

ARE WE GOING TO HAVE THEM FIT FOR WOLVES GAME?

WOLVES PLAYERS THITEEN OF THEM AWAY ON INTERNATIONA DUTIES.
Wolves have a pause in Premier League action this weekend but manager Gary O'Neil won't get the chance to work with his squad - at least not 13 of them.

We are into international week and Wolves are heavily represented in the fixtures before they return to club duty for the Premier League home game against Liverpool on Saturday September 16. Here are the players in O'Neil's squad who have been called up by their countries.

for what players tell refs every single week.

I would bet anyone that at least two players every single game on the week he got sent off cursed at their ref and last week did the same.

They'll make out nobody recorded what it was said but it was either racist, homophones or worse to smear the player.

he was always going to get at least 1 match for clear dissent and taking so long to leave the pitch .

Agreed, and I think it's only right too. However, is also slightly harsh when it's the first of its kind. Players do this all the time without punishment.

Only thing seen reported is vvd saying the decision was a ****ing joke. I’m assuming was a lot more said than that otherwise the punishment is way OTT

What I am about to say on the VVD matter is from the view of that incident and that incident alone and forgetting what has been before.

I think the ban is quite fair in terms of length. I think he took too long to go from the pitch and was swearing at the ref.

then when off the pitch he was still arguing and then was having a pop at the officials.

For whatever we think of the officials and the decisions they make at times, we don’t see the refs abusing the players after getting a load of it themselves. You can voice your disapproval without being disrespectful.

when I was watching the game live and saw it. I thought that VVD was out of order.

    in my opinion.

Club captain too, should be setting a better example.

It was a clear foul and red for preventing the goal scoring chance.

I don't understand why it was contested so strongly by Vvd and Klopp

In comparison with what's gone before, yes. But no player should be questioning the authority on the pitch no matter how **** that referee may have been

gakpo scored and nunez has 2 assists in 79mins so no 9 is probably gakpo given the long travel back.

alisson was left on the bench to soothe egos in a hammering of Bolivia. he will likely play the second game.

kelleher was left on the bench to watch bazuma shovel foot through the game
