Rutter is not a centre forward.
Yes, completely agree. Rutter is not a centre forward but Piroe is and has stats that show he's one of the best strikers in this division. So why the fcuk did Farke play Piroe behind Rutter? Makes no sense.

Just heard Paul Merson talking about Chelsea inability to play against teams set to defend and he was quite scathing. If I hadn't known who he was talking about, could've easily believed he was describing our game today.

At least we haven't spent sqwuillions to be as bad ;)

Meslier - 7. Had a bit of work to do on the quiet. Sheffield probably had the better chances. Kept his first clean sheet in living memory.

Ayling - 7. Had a good game. Great engine, covered alot of ground. End product was frustrating. Defensively OK.

Rodon - 6. Did OK. Held his own but it the ball over the top beat us too many times.

Struijk - 5. Same as Rodon. Same old positional mistakes and a couple of stray passes but overall did OK with the ball.

Shackleton - 4. Buy a ****ing left footed ****ing left back. Physically 2nd best against a robust Sheff Wed side. Good engine but didn't seem too much connection with Gnonto.

Ampadu - 9. Great game. Bossed the midfield. Reminded me of Kalvin under Bielsa. Man of the match.

Gray - 6. Kept us ticking over but never really threatened the Sheff Wed defence. Sloppy on the ball once or twice put us in trouble. Got to remember he's just a kid.

Gnonto - 6. Loads of possession. Did nothing with it although the threat was there. Another sulky afternoon. Needs to get a grip and stop waving his arms about.

Summerville - 6. Probably get a better score in the media. Great acceleration, great control, couple of great passes and looked most likely to open the door. Very frustrating as he always wants that extra touch. Faced with 3 defenders he'll still try to dribble through instead of popping it off to others. In other words, looks great, nothing to actually show for it. Give him a ball to play with on his own the selfish little..

Piroe - 2. Awful. Farkes fault mind. You don't buy the leagues best striker then play him in midfield. Game completely passed him by and the dithering and dallying of the other three around him robbed him of any ball.

Rutter - 4. Decent movement. Shocking finishing. No end product. Another one thinking he's in the playground trying to take 3 or 4 men on at once. He's no striker.

Subs.

Spence - n/a. Took over from a shattered Ayling. Only got 5-10 minutes though.

Kamara - n/a. Got 3 minutes to make an impact.

Farke - 0. Dunno what system it is, dunno why we keep running blindfold in to a low block, dunno why we don't use 5 subs when we are clearly tired. Dunno why we play the leagues best striker too deep. Dunno why we don't cross the ball. Dunno why we don't set traps to draw teams out.

49ers - 0. That's what you get when you don't invest at this level after selling your best players. A completely unbalanced mid table squad. Promotion push will be over by January you ****s.
Can’t agree regards Shackleton, I thought he was as good as Ampadu. Yes he’s not the left footed left back we ideally wanted, but he did his job effectively, and was one of the few players to inject a bit of pace into our forward play.

****ing hel he only played 8 minutes.
Yep and in that time showed more in 8-10 minutes than i saw from any of the others in the 20 minutes i saw of them, i can only comment on what i saw, admittedly i was possibly way off the mark over the entire match, but for me should be a starter next game, with piroe further up top taking any half chances that come his way.

Well on that effort we didn't sign him for his dead ball ability.

The issue is we keep trying to thread balls through the middle of a packed defence, very little for the strikers to feed off.

Gnonto seems to me to be the only one willing to try and go past a man, everyone else just lays it off, so we end up getting nowhere

The wall was already running towards him before he even struck it.

Piroe is playing behind Rutter, like a 10.

People saying we were dominant and they parked the bus. They were better than us and they just pumped it long. They had more shots on target and had the better chances.

Our front 3 of Gnonto, Summerville and Rutter just ****ed about with the ball and gave it away. Piss poor.

All will be good when Firpo is fit and back again.

It was awful ****e to watch. Dozed off two or three times in first half
