Tettehs out with his thigh again after about 15mins for Metz. Recurrent soft tissue injuries are what the 'robust' statement referred to. That's very different to the inevitable knocks and niggles that are part and parcel of football and experienced by all players at all clubs from time to time.
Development loan? Same reason Burnley signed Twine? Clearly we think he has potential to be an asset for us - just needs regular game-time and experience. You could ask why any club would sign a youngster then loan him out in the same breath, but it's fairly commonplace.
If they took a wrong turn into Gipton it's a wonder they got out unscathed. I once had to go there to pick up a stolen car. Milk floats hire rear gunners with a minimum of 5 years experience in the RAF.
.... and some on here maintained his injury record was good and nothing for us to be concerned about! Well, the last bit is true now at least. It was only a matter of time.
It didn't seem too bad historically but obviously these things can change. Club obviously have more info that we can get off stats sites though, so it looks like they've done exactly what they've said they would in this instance. Pretty sure if Metz saw his injury record as a big problem they wouldn't have signed him, but it does seem like De ja vu for the kid.
So we think we’re Chelsea or summat now? And Burnley had parachute money do we really have the money to be pissing about like this?
I believe it’s called Taking Without Owner’s Consent. ‘Picking it up’ indeed! I’m not condoning it of course, but if you’re going to lead the life of a petty criminal at least use the correct terminology for your crimes (or cockerney rhyming slang, Sweeney style, of course) On an unrelated topic do you happen to have any cheap Aston Martins for sale?
It's hardly the first time, we signed Maguire and then shipped him off to Wigan to make sure he got game time before we started playing him. We did the same with Celi last season.
Should have come to Hull. According to Acun it is like being in Istanbul. (Stop tittering at the back…)
Again did we have parachute money? And we signed him when we were in the PL didn’t we? Are we so cash rich we can do that now Either we sign him and he’s in our squad as he’s so much better than our own youth Or don’t sign him and use the money elsewhere like on a proper cm
They don't have petty criminals in Leeds, they're all professionals. I worked out of Leeds for 20 years and on one occasion I had to collect another stolen car - no, I don't work for a car recovery agency. The police officer stopped me jumping into the car and put on protective gloves then started checking around the driver's seat. He explained the latest craze was druggies abandoning stolen cars and leaving needles hidden in the seats. I was 39yo when I started working there and felt 99yo when I left. Actually, that's not true, I had a cushy number.
It doesn't matter what league we were in, the principle is the same. Sometimes you sign a player thinking he's ready for the first team, then you find he's not quite ready and arrange for a loan where he's going to play week in week out, with a view to getting him back ready for first team football.
