The atmosphere was awful yesterday. Norwich was much better. Was it the weather or the flat performance?

We picked up in volume when we got better.

Yeah, very flat, I don’t think the news of Tellas imminent sale and then the omission of Che from the match day squad helped. We were also quite flat for most of the game on the pitch, very little pace, penetration or often even intent to score a goal about our play, with a few exceptions. I think/hope that when the window is shut we will be able to get behind the team a lot better.

Yeah, I think the external noise effected both the team and the supporters. Understandably.

Got mine. Get ready for a long climb up to a Subbutteo match. Not as high as Newcastle, but lots of steps.
Always thought it’s amazing how they have such a big stadium but have never done well since building it. 48k capacity and a big fan base, you would expect them to be PL regulars.

According to my Mackem mate, they have made poor transfer decisions and found the lower leagues harder than fans expected. He reckons they only buy small players to play against teams of giants, plus rapid turn over of managers. He has supported Sunderland for 65 years, but reckons the last ten years he only goes to meet his mates. More of a habit he can’t kick, rather than a pleasurable experience. Gives me a hard time complaining about the Premier league troubles I complain about. Saints are a pampered, elitist club. Not any more!
