I don’t want to pick faults with our players but to compare the hugely overrated Seri to Tom is absolutely ****ing laughable, he said this nonsense months ago then went back in his box but I wondered when he’d get the itch again to spout utter nonesense.
Shark likes to spend his time on stat sites but the only stat and fact is Tom was a better player than Seri is or will ever be.

One fairly recent one I remember, is Sheffield United buying Rhian Brewster from Liverpool for £23.5m, they have an option to buy him back for £40m.

Morton is basically Slater 2.0 I can’t get my head around it at all.

We try to sign a big CDM then end up with R Woo, now we’ve identified we are weak as piss in the middle and to combat that we are trying to sign another energetic young player who’s not particularly solid defensively. Meanwhile Simons just warms the bench. Why are we allergic to battle hardened championship midfielders?

I think there’s a lot of people underestimating Morton, though it’s a little academic at the moment, as we’ve not actually done a deal to get him yet.

He’s a good player, as is Bird, but I think it’s foolish to think either would address the issues our current midfield have out of possession. If Rosenior rates Simons as highly as he says he does, that should be his opportunity to fill and not a loanee who won’t be here for the foreseeable future. If Simons isn’t quite ready, sign a more experienced player there and Simons can be his understudy, but I don’t think Rosenior wants to.

Interesting comments about Simons. I think his situation now is the same as McLoughlin's last year. Macca was schooled by Andy Cook at Bradford and had to wait his turn to get back in. Simons was poor and often immobile against Doncaster so he will have to wait his turn too - and if he has a loan at a decent L1 side to get up to speed, that turn will come sooner rather than later. Rosenior says that he wants everyone to get a fair crack during the season - so when someone performs below standard, it's surely reasonable that they drop down the pecking order.

I do think some posters struggle with the facts that (1) we need a squad with cover for every position, (2) not everyone can start every game and (3) the manager will pick the players perform best and most suited to the opposition.

At least we aren't Middlesbrough - they're a ****show for the second August in a row. And their answer to that last season won't be repeated this.

Who should we sign? Yet to see a name this summer we could feasible get.

The ideal candidate would be Whiteman as he is good on the ball and has that physicality we are missing. Still hasn’t signed an extension at Preston. Currently injured though but is due back soon.

There are options abroad. I don’t know what exactly our budget is. Apparently we need to be mindful of FFP but we’re also spending £5 million on a winger so who knows.

So was the entire squad who played in that game, why blame it on Simons?

Ok so the bid accepted is academic as things stand. It doesn't really indicate we're still planning to sell him unless we get a similar offer.

I didn’t. I doubt you’d like it if I put words in your mouth, so don’t do it to me.

He definitely wasn’t poor either. Probably one of the few bright spots, left out to dry playing next to Traore in a position he’s probably never played in.

Honestly, I thought he was. I thought that was his chance to stake a claim for a starting spot or at the very least get Rosie thinking about him. I thought he blew it

That’s harsh, Seri and Slater both would look poor the way we played that day.

I'm not blaming the defeat on him or anything like that - he just did himself no favours IMHO

Everyone seems to be focussing on who City will or won't sign, but who do you think City will sell this week?

Sinik - is he fit enough?
    Fleming - loan deal to a league 1 / 2 side ?
    Doch - currently injured.
    Lo-Tutala - league 1 loan ?
    Vaughn Covil - league 1 / 2 side - loan / sale ?
    Allahyar - move abroad?
    Ryan Longman - Oxford?

Oscar - cannot see him being sold unless we can bring in a replacement
Jacob Greaves - someone comes in with a lump of cash that Acun cannot afford to turn down?
