We're only a week(ish) away from this one. As I've said elsewhere, I think it would be nice to go back to the 4-2-3-1 formation at Turf Moor. Or Turrrrf Moo-errrrr if you say it with a Burnley accent. Becchio McCormack* - Howson - Snodgrass Pugh - Clayton White - Kisnorbo - Lees - Connolly McCarthy * (Bring Sam on if needs be). I'll predict a confident performance and a 2-0 win to Leeds. Our away form is excellent and Burnley just don't know what day it is. Sorry, really wanted to use that phrase after watching the Leeds 7-0 Southampton game earlier! Seriously though, they're 18th and we should paste them. Did the double over the smelly Lancastrians last season and I expect the same this time round. Anyone else going to this? Should be a good allocation of 4,000+ if we get the whole of the stand (which we should).
He doesn't score enough. 1 goal in 8, just like McCormack. AXE HIM! (Awaits JoshLUFC's response with interest and trepidation...)
McCarthy Connolly White Lees Kissa Sam (or Snodgrass if recovered from injury) Howson Clayton Nunez (Pugh) Keough McCormack (Becchio)
oh...leeds-18 i'll have you know my spelling is of a very high standard regardless of where im from or where i live. Anyway i have to live up to the expectations and disagree with you about dropping keogh, for me he does so much and i wouldnt consider it a requirement but more an advantage to have both strikers scoring regularly. My line would be: --------------------McCarthy----------------- Connolly------Lees--------Kisnorbo------White Snoddy-------Howson-----Clayton--------Sam ----------McCormack------Keogh------------- Bench: Cairns, O'Brien, Nunez, Pugh, Becchio/Forssell Im predicting a confortable 2-0 win with McCormack and Lees getting the goals
Not enough goals in the team with Keogh. He's like having another midfielder. His link up play is great, but too much reliance on McCormack. I'd go with the same team as Leeds18, but maybe with Nunez on the left. I know he didn't impress at left mid, but with the midfield 5, he'd be able to roam from the position more. The only benefit of the 4-4-2 is McCormack scores, but now he's not scoring, we should change. The 4-2-3-1 will get the best out of Snodgrass, Howson, Clayton and Nunez, Sam, Pugh aswell.
cheers. I reckon grayson will pick pretty much the same team but pugh instead of sam which i think doesnt give the team as much. Anyway, if we were to play a lone striker, if its any consolation i would play keogh as the lone striker, not becchio...
Now is an appropriate time to dig this up. I say we keep the same team as Leicester with Lees in place of O'Brien. If we're not winning by 60 minutes bring Sam on for Pugh and really go at them. Take the game to them and mix things up the following week at home to Barnsley to keep things fresh.
yea i think that would work but i think on that left side, we need some one who is good at keeping there position, can defend but can also beat a player now and then. Pugh has 2 of em but then i guess 2 out of 3 aint bad. And sam is exactly the same, he can keep position and attack but not defend, it just depends on what you want to prioritise. If only we had two snoddys or even do what i've been saying for donkeys. Howson on the right with Snoddy on the left.
I said bring Sam on at 60 minutes if we're not winning because he's a better attacker. I want us to really go at them and take them down.
yea i realise why. By the way on a separate point, i just realised that this game is on TV in Australia and just wondered whether it was in England. Very rarely they do that, anyway i'm just putting it out there that people can proxy server the **** out of this game
Thanks for the info, but don't worry it's on the BBC. Off to see it with a mate before going climbing.
