They had 1 shot off target in the first half. Scored their first decent chance in 75 mins. We looked shaky after we took a defender off to go all out for goals but that's hardly a surprise. The gamble worked.

Our all-around defensive game was very poor today. Total lack of intensity in pressing and closing down, a lack of composure in bringing down high balls even when uncontested, some awful passes that put is in danger a good few times and constantly losing duals or diving into challenges and missing. This also applies to when it was 11 v 11. Thankfully they didn't capitalise and LR's subs paid off.

I was going to post this regardless of the result. From the sending off until they scored, we were appalling. This keep-ball, pass it around the defence with no urgency played right into Blackburn’s hands. I was screaming inside as we wasted away the minutes.

Thank god for Aaron Connolly. He is the spark that will drive this team forward.

Now can we please try to score goals before trying to look fancy with this possession based nonsense?

I should be happy with the 3 points. But the way we played for the majority of that game did not deserve them.

We have been very lucky today but hopefully will learn from it and not do it again.
lol we weren’t appalling ffs.

We were well on top. Must have watched a different game.

That would be the same Seri who provided the equalizer

Yeah, if you read my post properly, I was talking about him being anonymous defensively when Blackburn hit us on the counter-attack. He was good on the ball.

Imo poor from Rosenior in starting Twine, ahead of Lokilo (or even Vaughan) and taking too long to change things.
What absolute bullshit.
Twine always looked like he was going to make something happen.
Lokilo and Vaughn did **** all offensively when they came on and looked lightweight in terms of defending.

lol we weren’t appalling ffs.

To be specific, the appalling parts were:

- the lack of urgency to score a goal/win the game
- passing around the defence with time ticking away
- not being brave in possession
- the fact that we have a fantastic set of players and only creating half chances against 10 men (up until they scored)

Not everything was appalling though I suppose. Just those things. It makes me feel better to write them down so I can relax. I’ll be happy about the win tomorrow I’m sure. <cool>

And we outweighed them yes.
