I agree with you. My point was you shouldn't even be asking the male players, let alone the female. The only thing I can think of is that in terms of employment law their investigation hasn't found enough to sack him. But even if that's the case why ask the players, male or female? Just make your decision. It's like they're scratching around to justify keeping him. And they're not really asking the male/women players' opinion. They're feeling them out to see how much resistance they'll get that's all.
Also the employment law thing I mentioned earlier is not a major obstacle if they wanted him out. If they can't sack him, they can sell him easily. He's a phenominal talent and there'll be a number of clubs in Italy, France and Spain who would chomp at the bits to sign him at less than the market price.
