This only works if West Ham/Us/Anyone else valued Downes at like £20m+ so we are getting a discount. Otherwise it was more just a first option on Downes rather than risking other clubs getting involved

Please don't get my hopes up. I know very little about Downes. But I do know that I loved Morgan and believe that we've never adequately replaced him. So if you're right, then wowzers!

We are going to be desperately short in midfield for the weekend. I assume Charles comes in with Armstrong and Alcaraz. Doyle to make the bench I expect ?

Hopefully Downes can get over this illness ASAP and still feature on Saturday, even having him on the bench would make a big difference. Charles the deep lying DM with Stu and Alcaraz should be fine. Would prefer to have Downes available to bring on rather than Doyle but at least it should likely just be this game where we'll be this short in the middle.
 
I know it's a what if but now JWP has been announced what happens if Flynn fails his medical or changes his mind?

If a medical has been arranged I can't see him changing his mind. Can't do a lot if he fails his medical apart from look elsewhere.
 
He looks like a real livewire! I am wondering why he is dropping down a league given from what we've seen he is Prem quality. But great if he is backing us from a long-term perspective to give him Prem game time / play himself into West Ham's or a Prem team's starting line-up whilst on loan.
