You young 'uns don't know how lucky you are. We were experimented on in the seventies with all sorts of mad ****e food, Schooners and Bernie Inns (proper ****e pub grub), Wimpy and Little Chef (Little Thief more like, £10 for a fry up that was nothing like you'd get from a proper London cafe, even if you ordered the Olympic). Kentucky Fried Chicken (No KFC as they weren't embarrassed about the Fried bit back then) was a greasbowl bucket of ****e chicken in sloppy batter, only decent-ish take-away was a chinky or a chippy (if you had a savaloy - ask for that in my local chippy and they think you've gone insane...do they still sell that ****e down there?). Indians then were sit in only, and only if you were mashed off your tits at 11:30 night as it the was the only place you could late night booze. The arrival of the 7-11 at Northolt Park changed our lives, no shop had been open past 8pm before then, right next to the Swan boozer (guesd that's not there anymore?), it was a dive of epic proportions where we hung out all the time!
Meanwhile….. on the transfer market, young Didley has decided to come out of retirement for the 12th time, to give the R’rss some much needed striker power. Just look at the speed and agility this guy has! Even with the bladder soothers on ( nappy) …. He looks match ready ….. from a mile away!
I blame QPR! What I mean is that we know all know and agree we have a sub-standard team (being polite), something that rarely happens, the agreeing bit. Therefore we need to find other things to take our minds off the inevitable, hence we have now turned this into a burger thread. The other day it all kicked off on the joke thread and again QPR's fault because we need to find other ways to voice our opion. I don't blame anyone, how can I, take this pike of cra* that I am wasting my time writing.
Moved out that way from East Acton, just off Uxbridge Road, when I was about 8....can't remember when I first had a kebab....only to be eaten when pissed anyway
Nothing better than a leftover kebab for breakfast. Has anyone noticed you can't seem to be able to get a old school, ton of fat dripping down your chin Donor Kebab any more, gone all healthy and fancy
Went to the Wimpy in Bwood once or twice 20 years ago and amazingly it was still going last time I checked. The town is awash with every cuisine you could hope for and it still trundles on almost always empty. The milkshakes were good. I’m old enough to remember Little Chefs vividly and still fairly scarred by the experience. Now we have 24 hour Maccies and 2am kebabs. It’s what our ancestors fought and died for.
Twenty years since I had a proper kebab with chilli sauce and chips Kebabs here are all done in wraps Very nice and probably the way they should be but still nothing wrong with it being in a pita bread
Best kebab I ever had was in Efes Gt Titchfield St London. Walked by a few months back only to find it had changed it's name.
Personally I would prefer to know what makes Efes the best ever kebab for Flanman than announcing Chris Martin has signed for another year when he realised no one else wants him
Thought he’d gone to Swindon but I see he’s free. A terrifying prospect. Though it would be good news for the kebab shops of West London.
Read online that Uche Ikpeazu has left Konyaspor in Turkey. Used to be at Wycombe. Massive lump of a striker. No idea on his food preferences.
