It’s awful a times isn’t it. Young lad who’s left his comfort zone to join a club in a foreign country, step up in class to what he’s played against, thrust straight into the first team and given no service whatsoever yet is getting slated.

If he’s dropped tomorrow that’s really poor from Mowbray imo. People are pointing the finger at him because he didn’t run enough and because they refuse to slate Roberts and Clarke when they have a ****e game.
Hardly put a cross in the box for the kid whilest he wad on the pitch

Had a great chat with the head of recruitment at my club earlier today and he was moaning about how tough the transfer market has been this summer. Said that hes been working on a loan deal since the end of may n its still not happened despite weekly discussions with the parent club. I was asking why is it so tough, he wasnt sure but says he is finding a lot of agents are wanting higher wages for their players and offering them to clubs in saudi. Says the saudi market is impacting a lot of deals at the minute as agents are desperate for saudi clubs to come in for their players.

Thought it was interesting as i was telling him that we (sunderland) have struggled to sign a striker. Says he wasnt surprised as forward players have been the hardest to sign

Asked him if he heard anything about sydney van hoojdonk (probably spelt wrong) coming to us, said he doesnt but knows his agent n said last he heard there is a lot of interest in him from England, belguim n germany. Said he thinks he would be a cracking signing for us and hes made for english football and hes actually meant to be a cracking lad, rate this guys opinion a lot so def keen if we go ahead with him

hopefully these strikers will be sorted soon, can't be any fun for TM and the lads trying to get a system, knowing it could all change with a new signing but i still believe the recruitment will get it sorted.

as for hemir, it seems most did not get to watch the american games, for a young lad he made intelligent runs and 'got in those spaces' so i am no way going to write the lad off...i will, of course, add that he still looks raw and still has to learn but the good part is the basic building blocks are already there, at least one goal saw him get the edge on a defender by using his strength so his age does not faze him, we get the crosses in we will see him score a few.

No worries at all mate

Was a great chat with him, hes a top guy n played at the highest level at club n International football so great insight from him

He says this summer has been one of the toughest yet - not helped by my club losing 4 guaranteed starters - but says some of the transfer fees at top level really impacting clubs further down the footballing chain currently

Worthless as it is. Spoke to a mate involved in agency side. We go back to our playing days, which is too long to mention. He is a hell of a bloke, does all kinds for me. I never trouble him re Sunderland as I dont want him in hock. He often offers up stuff though because he loves us, massive mates with Harford for example, and others. He is in my neck of woods in 12 days so I have booked us golf.

To be absolutely clear, he said nothing to be relied on. He told me in the summer Sunderland would not get rid of Mowbray when that daft journo was stirring ****e. As far as he knows we are a club in sync. Also said there are loads of rumblings in his world about who we will sign up front. His words are we are busy and attractive to a lot of agents. Club on the up he said. No names and I dont want them. But he is a reasonable name in the agency world. If he is anything to go by, we are a decent operation.
