Bob and PH have history. They have a proven track record of getting and sharing information. With PH, for me it dates back to the Borini signing when he told me weeks and weeks before it happened that it was going to happen and when.
It's not about evidence because how do you evidence something that hasn't happened yet, it's about trust and track record. Both have a track record, so I trust the info that comes out

I think he’s a brilliant signing to be a developing player and contribute but it’s not right he’s thrust into the lead role without learning his lines.

On the Batth matter, my own opinion is that a player can more or less earn the value of a contract over a relatively small part of it.

I'm thinking for instance of Steve Bould. He came here when we'd just got promoted on a two year deal. He only played about half a season but his value to the team was blindingly obvious in helping others come on. He earned his money.

I'd keep Batth for that reason if he's happy in himself. He should be fit for most or all of this season and the rest would be a bonus. The harder to calculate bit is his affect and influence on a very young squad, which appears to be significant on and off the pitch. We see it on the pitch, and a player's player award speaks to his influence off it.

Keep him if he's happy I'd say. His type are hard to find, whatever the model, or system or approach. People make it work.

The thing about ITK stuff is that it's correct at the moment you type it, but things can change rapidly which makes the source of the intel look stupid (or "rattled" on certain message boards)

I've been ITK twice, but never shared the info:

    1. 1998- When Howard Kendall left Everton, mate of mine who is/was good mates with Michael Bridges told me that Peter Reid was 100% leaving to become Everton manager
    2. 2017 - David Moyes told me he was resigning at the end of the season. This was in the tunnel before the Swansea game

One turned out to be bollocks, the other turned out to be true.

FWIW I'm glad both turned out how they did

Agreed. It's not fair on the lad. Apparently he had no idea about how fit he had to be to play for us. He was proper starfished and blowing out his arse after every training session. Mowbray has eve said he has loads to learn about closing down, working off the ball etc. He isn't ready, but that's no-one's fault. He should be an option off the bench this season and given time to learn the job. Hopefully that is what plays out from Sept onwards

Dont forget their going to engage with the culture & help them 'change':emoticon-0138-think... apparently engaging with horrific people & cultures is the way forward to stop terrorism, beheadings, hoying stones at raped women, preventing more LGBT people being chucked off high rise buildings....if only someone had thought of that pre 9/11 or Hitler the world would be a safer place.....unless Hitler, Terrorists, etc should have just realised people could have been bought off so easily....i wonder which:emoticon-0103-cool:

Morning. Just seen this as I quickly checked the thread. Not sure what the last couple of pages has descended into but cheers.

It's all good. People post what they like, it's up to others to take on board what they would like too.

No dramas. People hear stuff all the time at different stages. It's not that deep.

Sydney van Hooijdonk's situation remains unchanged: he was still not allowed to go to the Netherlands on a training camp and is allowed to leave. Trainer Motta: "He has to play somewhere." In terms of concrete rumors, however, it is still quiet. #scHeerenveen ⚪❤️

Just watched the 1st episode of mission to Burnley. 2 little snippets gives you a very good insight into championship live. What there chairman and a director talking about they will have to pay for a proven centre forward and also what kompany says in a meeting with chairman and all the directors about how you only make money on championship is selling assets. Brilliant insight to how the model kld is running and not spunking money up the wall like we have in the past.

It is a youth setup team but they play against senior players so its def experience of senior football

The doubts are about the quality of the league, which is fair as its a world away from the championship but its still senior football

It’s been really quiet last few days on transfer front. Suns shining and I’m off work today so I’m going to take that as a positive sign. Here’s to a 10 am teaser from the club on a signing straight out the blue!

Definitely mate. When the chairman and director talking in his car about the cost of a proven championship forward the price is between 5 to 10 mill then one of them says it's more like 8 to 10 mill.
