You know what I really liked about Saints in the PL - even last season? The ability to give the biggest sides a bloody nose. Even last season we beat City in the cup, drew with Arsenal and Man Utd twice, beating Chelsea twice etc. No better feeling that going to one of their grounds and winning. That's why I want to get back there ASAP.
Took my 11 year old to the semi final against Chelsea, not nice but kind of predictable. We were never in the game
Who’d have thought that playing players that don’t want to be here, players that know we don’t want them to be here, and players that are just not good enough in an unbalanced team would result in this kind of performance and result? The odd player from tonight in our first choice team will be fine. A whole team of them, disastrous. Shows how much work there still is to do with our squad.
Agreed. But it is the hope, the dream. You must remember those times, you are near my age. I hate this clinical football. It's all about getting promoted. It all about surviving. Nothing about creating a dream
All my hopes and dreams this season rest on us lifting the Championship trophy in April TBH. We should have done it in 2012. Now we have another opportunity.
Swansea won and Piroe scored two… hmm… we could do with a goal scorer… no rumours about him and if he’s playing, seemingly not in the verge of a move…. Boy do we need some goals to be scored this season…. I am not hopeful with our current crop….
Only positive was Charles according to Sky. Thats something at least as him and adams are the only ones likely to start regularly.
The kids were a positive imo. Amo-Ameyaw was a real bright spark, and Doyle looked good when he came on as well.
Next game, we need to sack off the likes of Mara, Djenepo, Lyanco, Aribo etc completely and give meaningful gametime to the kids. Don't even name them on the bench. Too long players like that have been stinking out the team. Time and time again they've shown they're nowhere near up for it.
