Tricky one because Gareth was unique really. In some senses, I get the comparison, but GB had an eye for goal that Tino doesn’t have. There were lots of calls from our fans to play him further forward, because we were lucky enough to have two top class RBs in him and Walker-Peters. He’s quick enough and tricky enough to play further up, but without that goal threat (so far). Honestly, I think he’s a marauding RB/WB more than a winger in the Bale sense.
The amount of mentions I get is only testament to the fact I identified Joelinton as having all the attributes to play cm.
Must be a case of a player they think can replace trippier simply being available. It's proactive, opportunist and a big box ticked.
No probs. I don’t think we will sign any more first team players. This window has been a steady 8/10 for me.
Anyone think that might mean a LB is now covered with Tino able to play there? I'd have loved Lewis Hall of Chelsea but TL is another option and decent squad padding for a long season and again really fits the profile of young and versatile with potential to be very good in the near future. Personally I think a RCB is the absolute priority now if we plan on bringing in anymore.
TransferMarket have it as 156m euros spent (if 40m for Tino is correct) with just shy of 45m coming back in... https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/newcastle-united/transfers/verein/762
Not sure mate. But Tonali was 55m Tino 40m and Barnes also 40m. Minteh was 7m. ASM out for 30m. So 112m.
