Their first 2 bids were below £20m so not necessarily. I think if they did offer something huge like £35-£40m then we should sell for the reasons you have stated. But as we have to give a sell-on to Chelsea, anything less and we may as well keep hold of him.
Oh yes. My post was on the proviso that they offer in the region of what you say. Maybe even 30m. Not their current stupid offers. What is it with everyone thinking they can bid 50% of the asking price as an opening

I note that the rumours first Man United bid for Hojlund (who I really wanted us to sign last summer and apparently we were interested in) was more like 80% of what Atalanta wanted. That’s how you do it

I like Tino (obviously), but he's always been the one that I'm most relaxed about selling. And that's largely because of the risk that he might never be the same again after his injury.

Get a decent £30m fee for him, invest just a fraction of it in Aarons, and I'll be happy (and will wish him all the best). If we could keep KWP too, then even better.

I expect we’ll have to invest the majority of the profit in Aarons. Wonder what is happening with Bree. He doesn’t seem to fit but seemed a good performer in the championship. Not sure why Luton don’t want him back as he seemed to fit their side. Perhaps we’ve raised his wages too much

Eh? Aarons would not cost £20million, or anywhere near that.

People are saying we potentially owe 40% of any profit to chelsea. So to get 20m we’d need to sell for 38m which it doesn’t seem like newcastle will go to. But we can hope.

Aarons currently has a transfermarkt valuation of €16m. And it seems like clubs are holding out even with one year left. See the rumours about Piroe.

So what do you think he will go for? Maybe 10m? I’m not sure it will be much less. And if that is true then it will be more than 50% of any profit we make unless we make 38m+ (which just seems overly optimistic based on the initial bids)

Our youth keepers are never any good. If they are not ready to be 3rd choice then we do need a 3rd keeper. The ideal scenario is that we get rid of McCarthy and bring in a keeper to compete with Baz for the No.1 but would still need to bring in a 3rd. Also seems unlikely that we can get rid of McCarthy unfortunately.

Translation:

Southampton do not agree to Bednarek's transfer. The club rejected several offers. First, they were not financially satisfactory. Secondly - the coach sees him as an important link in the fight for promotion. It is possible that the Pole will stay in the Championship.
