There's literally no way that this is the deal - straight up. Some people are way too quick to believe anything negative about the club - which does them down. The deal will be something like: 1 year (as reported) But with various clauses and add ons - may grow to 1.2 million. Initial fee will be low. Potentially - appearances also linked to auto extension of contract.
If you're going to be critical - don't accept every bit of information you read uncritically. Even Peter Risdale wouldn't have done the deal that some were crying over. Not ITK just basic common sense to work that out.
It’s essentially a one year loan, but Brighton don’t want him back and we want to proceed cautiously. All makes sense to me, if he performs (and he motivated to do just that) then we can give him a longer contract at Christmas.
Whatever the deal is the finance bods in the club might just know a little about what they're doing? No?
Done alot of fitness stuff though so more match sharpness than actual fitness. He’d had a long lay off when he joined us first time around and was firing within 2/3 appearances.
The thing about Connolly is that when he did play the entire team looked better! Great to have him back.
If it's his request then fair enough, but hopefully the club holds on option to cover itself incase he has an amazing season and stops him walking away for free
Good signing, an international from a good club, whatever we paid it wasn't a lot and a sensible contract, welcome Aaron to our great club.
Maybe we’ve just taken over the final year of his Brighton contract that only had a year to run, and that was what Connolly and Brighton wanted. It’s in both of their interest to do it that way, and maybe it was it was the only way we could get him.
A lot of people got very worked up about a fee that was only mentioned by some bloke on Twitter none of us had heard of. He’s a good player, he needs to stay fit, stay focused and everything else will sort itself.
