bedo, I've thought about Malta but the lack of beaches puts me off tbh though I've heard the locals are friendly, as for booze I don't drink enough of the stuff for it to affect my choice of destination. Planning to return to an old favourite in June - Cyprus, been there so many times I'm almost a local lol but the flights have seriously gone up in price since I was last there 6 yrs or so ago. Hopefully back to the US (Florida) next October but only to board a cruise ship
Bought an apartment there about 6yrs. ago so my home now when not in Saudi....yes a little lack of good beaches, though better towards the north but can find small beaches all over if know where to look. Gozo is the place for beaches but more quiet and as for the uninhabited tiny island of Comino says it all....spectacular for day trips eg. The Blue Lagoon. Would urge anyone to go and try it, many never want to return. Actually Malta consists of 3 islands. Pint and shots needed urgently plz.....lucky Argyle eh!
Could I have a barrel of strong Cider (merrydown 7.3 %) would be ideal...........and a very long straw.........and have you got some........McCoy Flame Grilled Steak Crisps.........and I'll set my Alarm for the day after the season finishes and I'll pop out and see what happened to Argyle. Although I will be 73 next March.......I am very fortunate to be in excellent health, the only problem I have ever had is a broken leg, snapped Tibia and double fracture of the Fibula, playing football when I was 34. The reason I tell you this is that if I follow this Argyle season.........I will probably end up having a heart condition and more jibberish than some of you might think I am at present. So can I have the above order sent down to a quiet corner of sensibles cellar, and if I don't crunch to loudly on the crisps he might not notice me in the shadows.......thank-you.
You can have what you like Plymborn and its on the house but don't tell the landlady, oh and by the way Sensible already knows that you sneak down into the cellar ..... think loads of us wish we were tortoises at the moment though, still who knows a few new players in a decent manager and we could be in the playoffs .... stranger things have happened. I promise I'll wake you up if that happens
Getting a bit dusty and unkept down here lately............it's been days since sensible been stocktaking............just can't get the staff these days.
Are you suggesting plymborn is a tortoise Gat? I know he is a bit wrinkled and old but that is a bit over the top isn't it. Mind you I've seen his head poking over the top of the crisp boxes when he is spying on me and the barmaid and perhaps I can see the resemblence. It's getting so there is more trafic down here in my dungeon than in the main bar these days.
Just sat through the England match and need something to wake me up now. First half was ok but the second was poor in my opinion. Thought I was watching an Argyle match with the good start and then fall off in the second half trying to give the game away. Bit better quality but the same script is what I mean. Hope next years Europeans is better than that.
Mrs LaLa...............you would be very interested in the Ring-Necked Parakeets that are starting to spread around the South East.........a beautiful bird.......bright green with a red budgie like beak..........very long tail.........a very loud "caw" screech in flight..........only quiet when feeding or nesting............becoming seen by some as a pest.........taking over regular birds nests and feeding habits......,.......just been watching three of them on the nut feeder in the garden.........they can hang there for ten minutes none stop..........just as long as the woodpeckers.........but bigger and more aggressive.......definately scaring other birds away...........flying around in packs screeching away and driving other birds away from the garden whilst they are there............beautiful but worrying.............. they would scare old Beau to death.
Percy Thrower.............showing your age sensible...............someone will ask who he played for next (don't you dare).
He used to get-up to a few things in the greenhouse.........and never let him get you behind the compost heap.
Sensible.............you got the wrong Percy.............Thrower.....Gardener............Percy Edwards might be your bird man.
Years and years on Radio...............A guest on literally every TV entertainment show........plus animal voice-overs on many films.......including major movies. Check him out on Wikipedia.
That's the chap plymborn. At least I didn't call him Percy Porcelain. And he would have worn shorts if you'd asked him Gat I'm sure.
Thanks for that Plym, I wish we had such sightings here, that must be a sight to behold! A little worrying about the effect on our native species though, they shouldn't be allowed to endanger the British birds in the same way the grey squirrels have done so to our reds. I love parrots but I love all birds, whilst in the US we saw some blue jays - they were amazing, however it was too late to see the hummingbirds, they migrate to Mexico in September so we just missed them but next time we aim to go around the end of May so should see plenty of them at that time of the year. Yes Beau is somewhat skittish (as are all African greys) and is afraid of most other birds - and his shadow at times lol.
The BBC headline is "Northern Rock Bank sold to Virgin". Either you or Gat haven't acquired a Bank have you Mrs lalala?
