It's crazy quiet.

In just a few weeks we've gone from being linked to Szoboszlai, Maddison, Diaby, Chiesa, Vlahovic & Barela, all at the same time, to literally nothing at all.

This has happened every window and in the end years reality is far less extravagant. I suspect it'll be rather underwhelming defensive signings now.

I don't care tbh it's just the beginning and we'll have to wait a few years before it cranks up although I won't lie I thought champions league qualification would see them bring in a few exciting players.

Newcastle/howe do not like anything even remotely exciting.

We've literally signed 3 players and one of them is a kid who's going on loan to Feyenoord.

And looking at Skybet we're not favourite to sign anyone right now.

I guess the positive is they're doing a reasonable job of shifting the drops with Wood and Darlow gone and Clark, Matty etc finishing.

I think Edwards was right about it .. maybe a couple of loans now.

Still need a few more off the wage bill.
Fraser, Hendrick, Hayden, just for starters.

P0llllp to you too.

Not every window tbf, the Jan 22 window was mental. I'm happy with the signings this far, but a striker and left back are clearly needed.

Newcastle have been linked with big names every window including the 1st and ended up signing Burn and target.

Ultimately they cannot attract nor can they afford the big names.

Fraser and Hendrick are both on £40k a week, so only chance is to loan them out while they wind down their contracts, cos no one's gonna give the knackers new contracts paying that.

Hayden apparently on £22k per week, so good chance he might get permanently signed.

Targett was a a good signing at the time, and Burn immediately slotted in and strengthened the team...he was a huge improvement on Clark ffs.

Then remember we also got 2 big names in Trippier and Bruno, and signed Wood which basically guaranteed our safety.

I'm been happy with the windows so far, it's gradual growth, was the same with City for a few years after the money came in, they didn't sign Aguero, De Bruyne etc straight away.

The list of names was another level

The Tobido McTominay and Livramento rumours are the only ones there at the moment.

Tobido is linked with bigger clubs unfortunately.

We need a LB. If we get a LB then I'll consider it a good window, even though I think we could really do with another CB.
