could the injury be down to him being a young lad, new to the club wanting to impress too early?

i mean, i would take a guess that players are made completely aware of such problems and that is also why the lads are never thrown into any over strenuous stuff to start off with, but even then some will possibly try to 'catch up'.

anyway, willing to put this down to more 'bad luck' and presume the staff are taking a good hard look at the past season and see if anything could be done to make sure players are fit to go.

 

You are absolving a professional athlete there mind of having no responsibility for his own warm up. Coaches have a rold to play, but individuals usually have their own stretching routines as well, it isnt all one sizs fits all. I take warm ups regularly for high level u18s and they do their own stretch routine, as well as a group one and a group ball based warm up. He would have his own stretching routine by now, or at the very least a strong routine drilled into him. No idea what went on yesterday, maybe he was never in the squad today so was doing some serious work, whatever he has to be responsible for his own warm up as much as a coach is.

Nobody knows yet, maybe soon after scans but nobody is accurately diagnosing injury severity at this point.

Even if it's bad I don't think it would make much difference on a practical basis. I don't think he'd have featured much anyway.

 

It's a sport, of course it's bad luck with injuries. The club has physios and sports scientists, I think they know how to train and look after players. It's sport, injuries will happen

 

I might of missed something else TM said, but the only thing I have read was him saying it was a slight strain

 

As far as I know that's the only official statement on it.
