I get a hint of Parker from Thunderbirds whenever I have the misfortune of seeing Frage. I wonder how many times I'd have to punch him until he looked exactly like Parker?
I'm in. How great it is to know all our votes in the not606 Red Wedge will be put to good use. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-66299705
Do you perhaps think that just maybe people might agree with this? Or are you forging a brave path entirely on your own? Or perhaps you might at some stage realise that there's nuance in people's thoughts with this. As I think it was Loading said, 9 out of 10 of us would all agree that introducing trans females into women's sport would be wrong. I can't speak for others, but I agree with this ruling that you can't immediately and legally self-identify as the opposite sex on a whim. You see, there are elements in which I agree with your position, just not the hysterical, angry old man waving at a cloud part, where you won't listen at all and you won't acknowledge mistakes.
Copied from a letter from Flitwick council to Mad Nad Dorries. Awful person awful government. "The last time you spoke in the Commons was 7 June 2022. You have not maintained a constituency office for a considerable time, and it’s widely understood that you have not held a surgery in Flitwick since March 2020. Rather than representing constituents, the council is concerned that your focus appears to have been firmly on your television show, upcoming book and political manoeuvres to embarrass the government for not appointing you to the House of Lords. Councillors noted that your behaviour widely reported in the press is not in line with the seven principles of public life set out by Lord Nolan in 1995 … Our residents desperately need effective representation now, and Flitwick town council calls on you to immediately vacate your seat to allow a by election."
Heh, "The Feds" didn't hold UFO hearings. The Republicans in the House of Representatives did. And they were funny. The Feds didn't drop all charges against SBF. They dropped a single charge, and that was because the Bahamians wouldn't extradite him to face that count. He still faces 11 counts, and the campaign finance violation was by some measure the least consequential of those.
Trump has been charged with three more crimes: https://www.washingtonpost.com/nati...rump-carlos-deoliveira-classified-indictment/ So that we're clear: these indictments don't relate to the first indictment for business records fraud. They also don't relate to the federal indictment for coup-related crimes that is expected imminently, nor the Georgia elections fraud charges that are also expected. These are instead extra charges in the whole "stealing a bunch of classified documents" indictment which he was charged with a few weeks back, because they found another document that he hid, and also learned that he attempted to get aides to delete the security cam footage of their previous criming. And when the IT guy wouldn't delete the footage, it appears that he got the pool technician to intentionally cause a flood into the room where the servers were held (succeeded in causing the flood, failed in destroying the evidence). Edit: the additional document is the war plans for Iran that he waved around in front of randos at his golf course, and then lied about having.
I can't access the article, because it's paywalled, but is he simply comparing GDP per capita of the poorest state (which I think is Mississippi) to that of France? Is he making any attempt to account for inequality? Mississippi has one of the highest income disparities in the highest-disparity developed country in the world, whereas France (since the formation of the EU) has made enormous strides in that regard...even if the state of Mississippi generates more income overall, the majority of people in France have a substantially better standard of living than those in Mississippi. Any mention of the fact that people in France on average live nearly 7 years longer than those in Mississippi? Hell, does he note that part of the reason the US has seen sustained economic growth in the past 30 years is that they entered into a customs union with their two most important trading partners...exactly the same thing the UK left? Perhaps he does all of those. But I've read basically this same article from Canadian conservatives with enough frequency to take a guess at what it looks like. A related thing: as of this year, I believe that my province -- Nova Scotia -- is now the poorest region in North America by purchasing power parity. That's not because our economy is cratering...it's experiencing significant growth, because it's pretty here and (until the fires and floods started) rather mild and a nice place to live. But that has in turn touched off a massive housing crisis because supply hasn't kept pace with demand, and neither have wages. Just an illustration...here's the sale price history of a house near me: That's more than 500% growth in price over a span where Canada has experienced 72% inflation. It isn't even a particularly nice house! Chasing GDP growth is pointless unless it improves the quality of life of your citizens (or if you don't give a damn about the quality of life of most of your citizens). The Anglosphere model of growth too often does not; Canada arguably does it better than the UK/US, but that's frankly a pretty low bar to clear, and much of Europe does it better than we do. Not that GDP growth is something the UK is experiencing or expected to experience soon, mind...
Basically sums it up. Labour are completely unelectable and an absolute waste of space. Even with the Tories being a shambles, the Labour Party care more about virtue signalling than helping the working class. Country is ****ed
“I’ve not read the article.. but I’m going to jump to loads of incorrect conclusions anyway.” - nice post. You’re missing a huge, huge thing in your understanding of the economy - expansion of the money supply. The reason that the house appears to have gone up in price so significantly is because your currency has been debased. Let me guess. You voted for Trudeau?
The growth in the price of the house exceeds the rate of general inflation in the same period by a factor of 7. That isn't caused by goldbuggery or lack thereof, it's caused by there being too few houses and too many people moving into the province from Ontario and British Columbia. No, but I can do basic math. It's kinda a neat superpower.
That video clip looks as though it's been selectively edited for posting by some twat on twitter. Your conception of the ULEZ implementation misses out this previously posted and underreported fact that the expansion was a Johnson initiative acted on by the then transport secretary Grant Shapps. "The transport secretary wrote to Sadiq Khan asking him to make the change as a condition of further financial support from Transport for London" https://www.onlondon.co.uk/letter-f...osed-enlarging-london-congestion-charge-zone/ More here including "Mr Khan has said he still intends on continuing as planned, though it is understood he is in “listening mode” regarding ways to lessen the financial impact on those with non-compliant vehicles." https://uk.news.yahoo.com/tfl-ulez-did-conservative-government-103932039.html? More waste of public money in challenging the ULEZ. "Five Conservative-led councils lose legal action against Mayor of London's plan to expand ultra-low emission zone."
I was actually listening to that live, and the video is a fair reflection of what was said. Lammy didn’t exactly cover himself with glory , but on the other hand it has to be said that there were a fair number of callers who were in favour of ULEZ, and if the expansion. It should be remembered that about 90% of residents’ cars are exempt from the charges. You are correct though, that it is Tory government policy and was originally introduced by Johnson as London Mayor, so to traduce it as a Labour initiative is laughable.
I'll stop making sense or we'll be on the road to nowhere with the psycho killer on the run. Oh, oh, oh, oh, ay-ya-ya-ya-ya-ya, ooh. I too read the Guardian, have sandals but no kaftan or beard.
