I am resisting the urge to do a Beatles pun! But I totally agree with you. Dack would do a job for us fitness permitting.
I see little sign of support, when comments are negative. Positive support is getting behind the club, the team, the manager and those that actually do all the work running the club. If "we" are the group who spent the season we got to the premier first time with banners with Tan out and back to blue instead of "supporting" the team then I am not part of that group. Two seasons when we won automatic promotion and two seasons in the premiership is outstanding and I give full credit and support for that. We had a bad season last time but supporting the club is during the good times and the bad times not fair weather fans. I have bet my team to get promotion this season. I like to see more positive posts or is that asking too much?
I was at the ground when we brought John Charles back and he scored that amazing long clearance goal, when the crowds chanted for Hooper on a free kick and Allchurch played, when winning the Welsh cup meant we played in Europe.I can assure you this period under Tan is the best of all for the club and I personally thank him for his loyal support so I just wish he had been treated better by so called fans.
Blimey, you're right. Most of us wouldn't have known any of that since we've only been supporting the club for a strawberry season. This by the way, will be the last time I respond to your inane rants and insults. I just wanted you to know that most can see right through your wind ups.
If anyone else does not want a reply to their posts from myself please feel free to let me know. There are only a small handful of fans who post so here the forum can hardly afford to insult those that contribute posts whether they agree or not. I do not insult anyone, I try to make valid points but some of my replies just use that to make a personal attack. To me making a reply to insult another poster is accepting you have nothing better to add so I don`t do it. .
Similarly jck200 Masky was one of the kids who welcomed ‘Big John’ to Ninian Park and got his autograph too, who witnessed that goal against Norwich over Kevin Keelan’s head, and furthermore that fabulous season that Peter Hooper had with a 22 goal return….loved those times! You must be quite old now! There is a lot of fur coats with no knickers on this site, Masky is much maligned and also Aber (rightly so). Keep up your good work, I enjoy reading it! Masky
As far I am concerned I suggest you should appreciate more that: 1. Us posters are entitled to their opinion regardless of whether it’s right or wrong in your eyes 2. If a poster does not agree with your point of view you should at least respect it 3. Us posters are entitled to be positive, negative or ambivalent about the football club 4. Us posters are entitled to praise or criticise the football club. All posters here support the club and obviously all want to see them achieve success but to expect everyone to show firstly the same level of optimism and secondly the same views as you is fanciful.
I was objecting to the response given to me using "my insane rants and insults" if you feel that is fair comment compared to my post which did not insult anyone then I am more than happy to respect that opinion.
I have given up hope about anyone being positive about the new season so please do not worry that I might. Something that might please everyone is if we go to Leeds and get well beaten if only to prove my optimism was far too high. If you don`t have a dream how you going to make a dream come true? Football is entertainment that allows everyone to take their minds off the real problems in life. At least the other forum are more positive or at least hopeful.
Well said Nin. As supporters we can voice our opinions whether they are positive, negative or something in between. We don't always agree with each other but we try to respect each others' views and get along most of the time. While we have not all been around long enough to have witnessed John Charles' return many of us can trace our supporting history back to the late 60's/early 70's', at least 50 years or so. As a result we have experienced all sorts of results and emotions. I think that entitles us to a range of opinions without having a permanent smiley face. Clingo is probably the most fair minded and even handed poster on here. His post above I think sums up our views on a lot of what JCK has to say. By the way which optician do you, JCK, get your rose tinted glasses from?
Just watched the Porto highlights, despite losing 4-0 we look good. Very encouraging. I am sorry if I am not patting everyone on the back but this post is about the Porto game.
Why do everyone seem to feel they need to add a personal insult which does not exactly earn respect from me. I on the other hand do not need to add a personal insult because I do show respect.
Have you heard about the army passing out parade? Mum and Dad of one of the soldiers watching. Mum says to Dad, "Look, everyone is out of step apart from our Johnny". Ring any bells?
Could you be a little more specific regarding something I actually posted, I posted about the Porto game so if everyone else is out of step you are correct and I am the only one posting about the Porto game.
There is a pre season thread on the Porto game which you have I believe contributed to. This is the Summer transfer thread
Mate, you certainly have a unique way of putting things I must say.... I for one am quietly optimistic. Not so much thinking we'll go up, as I don't. I thin there are too many other sides likely to better positioned than we are to spend on higher calibre players and also that are starting from a better baseline than us, BUT, I do think that if we can start finding our shooting boots or bring in a striker that will suit us that knows his way to goal then we could, just could trouble the play-off spots a little. In saying that, we definitely still need a decent CB to give us more depth at the back too. I still think it's too early in Bulut's reign to expect miracles but I certainly think he has us going in the right direction to enjoy a far better season this time around than last... Personally I think we're all hoping for and just about anticipating a better season this time around, but then if it gets any worse then we really ARE in trouble!!
Really appreciate your comments regarding football, it makes a pleasant change. We know how hard this league is so we may end up mid table but if we accept that without kicking a ball then we have no hope at all. To be honest we don`t need a striker we need a goalscorer and it matters not where he plays. Madine was a striker. Keifer Moore, Robinson and Kapa are goal scorers. We need cover for a CB but I seriously think Goustas is a class act. As far as Ugbo and Meitie go we will have to wait and see. I like Etete and Ojo but their shots to goal ratio is hard to fathom, we can`t play them and live in hope. We have new players and Ramsey if we had last seasons team I would be more optimistic about getting relegated.
Yes and the pre season included players that came in on transfers. Might help if a thread was started for those who want to complain about me. By the way have you red all the posts here and were they all about transfers if so could you tell me what all the other posts here are about?
