Rosenior speaks well, he is clear and considered. I think the reaction on here says more about the people listening to his words than Rosenior himself.

There was absolutely nothing in that interview to spark any major reaction. I enjoyed it and was quite comforted to hear his disappointment in the performance rather than brushing it off as a ‘pre-season’ thing.

I can sort of see why we didn't take on Cox, probably wanted to be first choice, and he would probably warrant that seeing him play. As a club at the moment, we probably can't afford a strong second string, as wage demands would be too high, and if we have cover with Greaves/Fleming/Coyle at present we just have to accept that.

On Tetteh, if we can get a good fee for him, and he frees up wages, which he was probably one of the high earners, and if we do get Connolly in one loan, then we are not in a bad position IMO.

Why take him on trial then? He was always going to be back up. Either he was an idiot for coming on trial or we were wasting our time taking him. Wasn't Rosenior talking about wanting two competing for every position? That requires a strong back up.

Indeed he was, but maybe his wage demands were too high, I may be wrong but Vinagre wasn't over the line when he first came in, maybe there was an element of cover should Vinagre not come to fruition.

There must be a reason, because footballing wise we all could see he is good, so why not take him on then?

We expected to move Fleming on and then Cox to come in, Fleming hasn't happened so Cox wasn't offered a deal

What the manager said about not offering Cox a deal was interesting:

"For now, yes," Rosenior said when asked if a decision had been made. "Coxy did great coming in but at the moment, we won't be offering him a contract."

For now and at the moment imply things might change (for example if Fleming moves on). Of course the lad will probably accept another offer in the meantime as he's currently without a club and no one could blame him.

What we know is that you can't pre judge a season by pre seadon friendly form. We also have been led to believe that there there will be a few going and a few quality players coming in. Basically we have no idea what to expect except it will take a month or two to settle in. This about turn on the manager is ridiculous

Woah woah woah, we're getting our business done early so they can gel, get up to speed, be indoctrinated with the plan during the essential pre season. We need to be ready to go on day one not in a month or two.

We already have Vinagre and Fleming

Every manager says he wants his business done early and it never happens, there's only half a dozen clubs that have signed more players than us, several clubs have only made one signing and one club still hasn't signed anyone at all.

Well, from what I can glean from the last 24 hours or so on here is that essentially our owner is daft, our manager is a useless bullshtter, our players are not good enough, our training facilities are ****, our fan base is fickle, our attendances are manipulated, our geographical location is against us, the Botanic crew and Bobbi are really running the club and we are destined for relegation. Amazing how all this has come to light after a couple of poor meaningless friendles. If anyones not happy with the current situation then please feel free to **** off and support TWS or suchlike. Personally I’m sticking with my team.

Fleming seems to have gone backwards since KLP left. I guess it just goes to show, playing regularly together as they did in the U23/21's does show the advantage of building partnerships on the pitch.

I agree to an extent. The KLP partnership did elevate expectations for him, but I thought we all saw enough quality there to suggest he was one for the future. I’d be gutted for the lad if he doesn’t stay but I have to say, Vinagre already looks a class above in terms of reading the game and being a step ahead.

I don’t think he ever went backwards. He was decent with a back 3 and Greaves backing him up and obviously KLP in front as you say. As soon as he was put in a back 4 he’s looked way to defensively suspect. He isn’t particularly fast or physical, so with the 3 linking up together he has decent technique to play interlinking play but that’s about it. He’s never driven past a man or bombed on beyond a winger
