Hmm, do we have a man playing in the Womens World Cup or is it a woman with an identity crisis? https://www.https://www.themoviedb....jCBfEpsy.jpgbbc.co.uk/sport/football/66299441
Pretty sure with that one, if found guilty he would have to get rid of club as he’d fail owners and directors test.
Aren't you owned by ENIC of which Joe Lewis is one of the partners ? Surely he'd be struck off the list of directors and Daniel Levy would assume overall control Hopefully
Well this kind of puts a spanner in the works of the Spuds 100 year grudge against Henry Norris at Arsenal Who'd have thunk they'd have a bent owner too
Don't think that's right mate as the test only applies at point of purchase. They can't apply it to somebody who's already a club owner as how can you force them to sell? What if there's no interested buyer with the needed funds? Abramovic was special case having been sanctioned by UK government. Our previous Chinese owner would have failed the test just months after he bought us as the league changed the rules after he took over which meant people in his position wouldn't be allowed in future.
Are you sure? I don't see how that's feasible as you can't force someone to sell a business in the same way you can stop them taking ownership. I'm almost certain that once you're in you're in as there's no way around it. Plus like I said when we were bought by Gao the rules were changed not long after which would have prevented him taking over had they been in place beforehand and he still stayed in place for a few years.
That’s what Dick Masters said when they were delaying our takeover. That the Owners and directors test is applied every season. He’s a lying little twat though, so no idea if it’s true or not. Basically if there’s any way that a rule can help Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal and Spurs then it’s normally implemented.
The government CAN force people to part with businesses, property as far as I know but only under 2 conditions. 1) The Land the business sits on is vital to a government programme or construction, like if they are building a new motor way or vital public service building like a hospital and school and there are no other viable sites. 2) The business owner is considered an "enemy of the state" and the government uses a special parliamentary decree to appropriate their assets as it has reason to believe that the inidividual is somehow using said assets to plot or harm the sovereignty of the United Kingdom or aid its enemies. (This was the bullshit they got Roman on). But FIFA or even the government cant just say "You did **** we didnt like" and force them to sell, no, I dont believe so. Its a thousand times easier to prevent someone from buying something than it is to appropriate something from someone who already owns it.
