Yes we moved on two years ago yet some people were expecting something from him. The disappointing thing is that he prefers being a big fish in a small pond rather than being a medium fish in the ocean. In the last two years (since EH) he’s improved the least (assuming he has improved), he’s shown he thinks he’s the main man and ignores others, as soon as he loses the ball that’s it from him, if he’s being marked out of the game then he is down with some injury. Everyone wanted him to succeed but he never did fit in to EH’s footballing philosophy.
Yeah, pity, but he just never really looked likely to adapt, despite Eddie & co working with him. Just a totally different style of play.
Yes, especially as I was Murphy's biggest 'fan'. It actually worried me that Murphy started to show some signs of being half decent towards the end of the season - as well as becoming popular with some fans due to his ****housery.
Considering SA are buying mainly midfielders and attackers then he’s going to have a field day against Saudi defenders
Rudy Galetti (who?) claims ASM has successfully passed his medical. This transfer is definitely sounding fishy.
Most of that is garbage. We've moved on. We need an upgrade. Max tried but ultimately he's an instinct player which when he was on song made him unplayable. He tried to think and play but that destroyed the instinct part of his game. He was a shining light during a dark period and I thank him for what he did and wish him the best going forward. No slagging off. No short memory.
PL clubs complaining that we’re selling Maxi to SA club at an inflated price. They’re having a ****ing laugh! £25m is peanuts these days. Surprised Palace or Everton don’t come in for him at that price?
Meanwhile, a championship side want us to pay £50m for a 21 year old with 1 senior season under his belt and a having suffered a serious injury that ruled him out almost all of last season. But that's OK.
They can cry all they like, there is precisely ****ALL they can do about it. It’s 100% legal and above board. Watford and Udinese did it in the most blatant manner imaginable for years, and not a peep. Lovely, salty tears. Yum.
Saudi Arabia own football now anyway... the Premier league will have to scrap FFP eventually or it'll become second fiddle.
But who decides on 'market value' anyway? Market value is simply what somebody is prepared to pay. Then it's whether the selling club accept the offer.
