We must be due a ball that shoots all along the ground into the stumps or pads !

Wood's pace is down a little to 86mph. Can he find the extra 5mph and end another ?

    Looks that way.
Imagine the momentum we'd take to The Oval at 2-2?

If the forecast is correct I think they'll get away with it.
Let's hope the forecast is not too accurate.

How many overs were bowled in the day ? If it was less than 90 then they should be allowed to play to at least 7pm imo

    Yes I agree.
That's not in the laws though, so that's why teams continue to do it.

But then England are no better than the Aussies, 82 first day, 83 the next so nearly 30 ish overs lost, the paying public are the ones missing out. It need to be sorted.
It not in the laws but in the guidelines

The laws are crazy, you can make up time on the day rain occurs and play till 7. But when there's 100% rain coming for the next day you can't add on time to accommodate it. We are playing a specific brand of Test cricket to try and save the future of thst genre, yet cretinous rules are the most likely culprits for its demise !

A serious question, why can't play continue until the light is too bad or until the 90 overs for the day are completed ?

As for the cricket, we are in deep poo. Great innings from Crawley and Bairstow- poor captaincy from Cummins. Bring on the rain.

Calm down Oz, I think there was more than a little tongue in cheek in that remark ! Of course he's right though :emoticon-0105-wink:

It looks like it may well save you unfortunately. All the momentum is with England, oh if only Wood had been able to play the whole series. If there is enough time for us to bowl you out, I can't see a way you win at The Oval, you look a beaten team to me !
