Yeah, think it would completely alter conditions like it does in tennis. The ball would be hooping all over the place. Amazed there's been no research into it though - surely some sort of sheet/roof over the playing area, that allows the air to flow normally OR air con to keep the temps the same as it was without the roof?

Easy for me to say like...........

    What you reckon?
Quick runs until lunch, aim for around 150/170 lead then put them back in after lunch?

If we bat until lunch we’ll have a lead of around 200. At least.

I’d declare at lunch and then put them in whatever we are.

I think maybe get the runs and put them in for 4 or 5 awkward overs before lunch. Try to knock one or 2 over before the afternoon session

Light shower falling. Stay away you bastard!!

150 lead up. Get the levers out and tee off for 15 minutes. Then make them do a bit of batting!!

Australia have bowled and fielded well. England would have wanted to be 200 ahead before lunch I reckon. They might as well swing the bat for 20 mins then stick them in after lunch now. Time more important than runs

Bit of pantomime with the Aussies at the mo. The mock appeals from the crowd for every ball that hit the middle of the bat yesterday was funny

Wonder if the improved forecast has changed the thinking. We look like we are playing for lunch without any serious intent

I reckon the weatherman has backed the draw after telling them the weather will be better!! Get the odds up!

I think if you take out the weather in cricket then you are taking out a huge part of cricket. For example, we will never see a team with 1 wicket left with a whole day ahead of them, desperately defending in the hope of the all day downpour that is being predicted is just around the corner. Working tactics around the weather is an interesting part of cricket. Today is a good example. However i expect that if I was a paying spectator then I would most definitely have a different point of view.

We'd have got another over in potentially had they not wasted the umpires time on that one.

I'm worried we are wasting valuable time coming out to bat after lunch.
