Looks to being the key word. Jarvis and Vaughan’s first thought is to drive us up the pitch Doesn’t lead to anything… Jarvis was at the heart of everything good first half. Longman quietly impressed it just needs to turn into something
Something about not having as much say in shaping the club as he wanted due to being a minority shareholder. Edit: Meh, stupid refresh. Already answered
A lot on here guaranteed we’d have over 20000 hard core fans back as soon as the allams left While some knew how fickle our lot are
We were filling the stadium as we made the march up the leagues from L2 as the KC opened. We reached the promised land - maxed capacity week in, week out - a couple of relegations and the Allams being knobs and the good feeling went for many. I think we’ll average above 20k for this season, which I still think is decent . We don’t have the fanatical base that some others do.
Think going forward it depends how well we do, let’s not forget the excellent crowds we were getting when going from division two up the leagues. Obviously many were lost with all the Problems occurring with the last owners. It’s definitely harder getting fans back once they are lost but now in the stadium it’s a totally different atmosphere and quite a number have returned. Of course many more are needed but I can see attendances of 20,000. A massive problem was losing many kids from the stadium ( the future of the club) and when they don’t go that’s when they tend to follow the big clubs. Going forward let’s hope more return.
Agreed. Everything related to things off the pitch has been fantastic, I mean it wasnt exactly difficult to improve on after the Allams.. but he's done what we hoped he would. For me he's got a lot of the rest wrong.. Shota, transfers (especially selling KLP and replacing him with Sinik), managing the FFP (which according to Ehab, a new owner would have the luxury of spending big due to our FFP headspace). I still think Acun had the right idea when he went for someone like Pedro Martins after sacking Shota. I think if the aim is promotion and getting the best out of players, he should have brought in the best manager he could find. I've nothing against Rosenior, I think in a few years he'll be a decent manager.. but I dont think it adds up to bring in a manager who's still learning his trade and asking him to achieve promotion. I hope im proven wrong and things start to gel this season but im not expecting top 6 this year, I think we'll end up in a similar position to last season.
Last time I took my dad he remarked on the amount of kids and families that were there, so the club must be doing something right
We were not filling the stadium as we marched up the leagues, although attendances were good and an amazing turn around. Neither did we max the capacity, 25,404, week in week out in the PL. Though given the ludicrous amount of segregation required due to the poor design of the stadium that was difficult and even more of a problem now. The figures are here. http://european-football-statistics.co.uk/attnclub/league/hulc.htm
This is the big aspect. It's getting kids hooked and thats difficult. The amount of parents that probably support a Man U or Liverpool will be badgered by their kid to go the game. I dont care what people say the combo of Allams and COVID ****ed a whole generation of City supporters
16k average attendance in the Old division 3 is pretty darn good. 18k in League 1 is good as well so yes we did fill it up
Yeah, it’s weird. Acun and Kesler apparently don’t have the patience to build a project and want immediate success/promotion yet they’ve appointed a young, inexperienced but ambitious and forward-thinking manager in Rosenior. Surely they must know now that this is a long-term project and not a case of trying to get promoted as soon as possible for the financial benefits. I don’t know how close we are to the FFP limit but the way they go on about it suggests we can’t really spend much at all on transfer fees, hence us being linked with and signing players on loan and free transfers.
I assume rosenior isn’t a high earner himself And would a proven manager come if he knows what the budget is?
