He was highly rated at Oldham but was sent out by on loan into the darkest depths of the non-league by a disliked manager at Oldham (forget his name). Their fans seemed to see potential in Harry, but also saw his style would struggle in a physical league with a hoofball manager.
I think Rosenior wants to replicate De Zerbi’s football at Brighton albeit at Championship level. Problem is, he doesn’t have all the right players for it yet. We don’t have a top Championship equivalent of Caicedo, for example. We don’t really have a keeper fully confident to play out from the back. And our wingers aren’t top 6 quality either. Allahyar’s got talent but is still raw and I think the hamstring injuries have made him too hesitant to use his pace now for fear of getting injured again. Longman’s just not at this level. He works hard and seems like a good kid but he’s just not good enough. The new kid Lokilo could flop or have the best season in his career so we’ll see on that one. Vaughan’s probably the best winger we have in terms of ability. Oh and there’s Sinik who I’d like to see given another chance to prove himself but who knows.
I can see the logic of sending Jarvis out on loan, a season of playing regularly would be good for him. But, he looks better than Longman, and we didn't send Bowen out on loan, we played him. I realise Jarvis isn't (yet) in that class, but he does remind me a bit of Bowen in his ability to be in the right place in the penalty area. Last night he had a goal, two other shots on target, and a penalty that could have been given had the ref not been 15 yards behind the play. Another similarity is that he is a bit predictable, always cutting in onto his stronger foot, a flaw that Bowen fixed eventually.
We need to see Lokilo play, I'm intrigued as to how well he'll do. He's 24, we're his seventh club. Three of those were loans. Of those he's been actually contracted to, his reasons for leaving are interesting. Crystal Palace - Released at end of three year contract Doncaster - Failed to agree new deal at end of one year contract Górnik Łęczna - Transferred after a year Sparta Rotterdam - Released from two year contract a year early Seems a very odd profile.
Lokilo is someone who showed huge potential at a young age, but never quite fulfilled it. He had a very good spell in Turkey last year, so there’s a chance he could still become something. He fit the profile that Liam was looking for so thought to be worth a shot. He is the gamble we were going to take on de la Fuente but as Konrad played no football since our interest Lokilo became the gamble. Liam likes his attitude and feels he might get a tune out of him. If he does, he could become another very saleable asset to continue our buy cheap sell expensive model.
Honestly if you find the keeper that can play well enough out the back or Ingram continues to improve (as I thought he did the best he's done so far last night) then this begins to work better. There was times last night the play was really tidy especially from Macca who looked incredibly calm on the ball
Compare the excitement of this press conference held this time last year + 10 days. The purpose was to push membership and merch sales. Not sure how hes going to achieve that this year wheeling out Lokilo, Vinigre and possibly Cox.
I heard the target was a minimum of 18,000 sold, which would allow for away fans and then pay on the gates. Wanted a small amount of pay on the gates which increases demand as fans say “tickets are sold out, when’s the next one I can by go to?”. Not sure how many we’ve sold atm.
I know his loan ended disappointingly with a series of injuries, but when he was on the pitch he did offer us a fair bit, think most of us were glowing about his contributions at the time
I think we were but wasn't there some suspicion that his last injury didn't seem to justify the number of games he missed so folk were wondering why?
the club's offical social media pages are saying 2000 new members sure they were 12,500 members last season
