city are treble champions and at this point have only lost one player and replaced them with kovacic. in theory they are not much weaker despite losing a player who was in top top form last year.

All the rest going is speculation.

If city are on form then 95 is the absolutely minimum target and there's not one side in the prem capable of racing them week in and week out to that currently.

We should be aiming for 4th and Europa league and anything else is a massive massive bonus.

As I have outlined there's so much to do to get those forwards working for us and that's IMO the key to 4th. anything better requires the whole team balance to improve
I don't buy into 'aiming for'. I do buy into having a target though. I take each game as it comes; win this one, onto the next one...... Having one eye on the prize means you don't have both eyes on the task at hand.

not saying that they didn’t ‘stumble’ at any point. But it was still a decent challenge however city are just too strong

I agree Man City are a machine. Just pointing out that arsenal threw it away (from that position) rather than the 'machine' overpowering them. If Arsenal do what's needed, Man City can't influence it.

TBF, I was just surprised Arsenal lasted as long as they did. They were always going to go 'Spursy' at some point

I think it was lack of experience of being in that position that did for them in the end. They didn't have too many seasoned pros in the team pushing them on.

6 pens. 1 free kick. 3 non pen goals. So don’t expect him to be getting near that this year

who knows.

we are going to use him slightly differently to how Brighton did most likely.

however, a lot depends on formation..if we send him on up the park while trent and someone stands about then he should get more chances.

if he plays like wijnaldum did then 5 or so goals would be a good return

Other than Coutinho (and maybe Milner when he took penalties), have we had high scoring midfielders under Klopp?

klopp would contend the entire front 3 were midfielders lol

but seriously, no I wouldn't say high scoring but then again what is the threshold for a midfielder to be a high scorer?

10 goals?
15?

With midfielders i always think in terms of assists plus goals (or goal involvement if you like) but you also need to take into account what sort of midfielder they are.

Never really midfielder job to create/score in klopps team. When we were successful they were functional and provided the engine and allowed TAA / Robbo to get the assists along with the 3 forwards scoring /assisting each other.

Forward score 30 midfield 15 and defence 5 is 50 goals.

But could easily get 40 from forwards, 5 from midfield and 5 from defence and still end up with 50.

Sinilar with assists. Could have de bruyne getting 15 assists ans full backs getting 0. Or in our team Hendo getting 0 assists and Robbo/Trent getting 10 each.

In isolation it doesn’t really matter.

In Klopp's first season Lallana scored 8, Can 5, Wijnaldum 6, and Milner 7.

He changed the midfield to be more defensive and the goal tally went up - from 78 >84>89 it just wasn't coming from midfield
