Some good news at least. If we can build a band of brothers mentality, then it must just make the difference between staying up and going down !
We have always performed better with a strong team spirit. Hasn’t felt strong for a while - and with our terrible form I guess it’s hardly surprising. Given the criticism GA took last season for his attempts to develop the team spirit he hasn’t given in to one of his aims.
Looking at things on paper academically I'd be as depressed at the thought of next season as the rest of you. Two things maybe make me think we'll be okay: 1) We're QPR. We're always rubbish when we should be good, and are then good when we should be rubbish. 2) Our teams have faltered in recent years because of mental fragility rather than a lack of technical ability, imo. Gareth isn't the man to make us technically better, but I think he might be the right kind of leader to get us pulling in the same direction, and make us less fragile. Bit of what Illias is saying. Let's see, and fingers crossed.
Wouldn't it be ironic for Chair to talk about a growing bond between the players and then he is sold a few days later....
Not point 1! But point 2 to an extent - address the weakness that exists with the right solution, rather than ignoring weaknesses and just playing to existing strengths.
Chair didn't play as he's nursing a knock apparently. According to reports we looked alot better after Pedder came on for Dozzell. He set up Armstrong's winner. We really could do with an upgrade on Dozzell, he's just utter pants !
Does anyone know what formation we played? I'm assuming it was 4-4-2. Dykes and Armstrong as a front two would unsettle a few defences next season.
