Patterson v Ballard

 

He is a funny one Borges. I have watched a bit of him and I am not convinced enough. I am probably alone and howling at the moon. His stats are mental and he has pace that should be in the olympics. I watch him at u23 and that pace looks a bit like a bullying card, if that makes sense. There isnt the clever defensive play that will negate the pace, i.e. getting touch tight before he gets the ball, doubling up, pushing him into dead ends. I think he might well turn out to be very good, but his awareness is a bit off yet when in possession. He is a young lad, and has loads of time on his side, but I dont think I would be queueing up to take him on loan this year personally. Amad was primed for the impact he made here, Borges is a year away from that I think. As always just an opinion.

 

Been linked with the other young lad from Utd. I'd imagine any loan deals will be slightly later in the window

 

Good to see Sunderland players with a bit of beef on them these days. Too many willowy beanpoles in recent years.

Yeah I was just having a look at their faces and they all look happy as can be. Patterson's supposed to be a funny character looks like he's made them laugh. Great bonding for them.

 

You say just an opinion, but it's clearly a well informed one. I for one really appreciate the insight as I don't know much about him. Saw he bagged a hattrick in one of their under 23 games towards the end of the season, but that's it really.

 

Be nice to have a couple more in over the next 2 or 3 weeks ready for Ipswich at home

 

Too true - look at the size of the 16yr old goalkeeper that has gone over with them - bigger than Jobe!!

Spoke to him last Saturday and he's definitely staying

 

Only person I couldn't see on the team pic in the gym was Pritchard.
