Our limited ability to spend means we have to rely on freebies. Whilst I very much doubt Ramsey would play for nothing, there's a general belief that his joining the club would stimulate substantial interest amongst both the media and supporters. The resulting increase in revenue into the club through sponsorship deals, fanbase purchases and media revenue would more than pay for his time with us. Agree he brings no guarantees as to his on pitch influence but he's still miles ahead of anyone else we have at the club in midfield control. If he stimulates our on pitch performances as much as he has the media interest, then we'll be very happy. In the meantime, despite the belief of some that he's already here - as I write, he isn't.
As we actually don`t pay the wages so if other clubs can`t attract big names we don`t care. I hope that answers your question.

Depends on what you mean by big wages??? If rumours are true then he'll likely only be on a few grand more than Callum Robinson for basic wages. I'm sure there'll be other incentives and more revenue generating opportunities built in to any deal (such as % of commercial sales on named shirts etc), so it may actually prove to be a very good deal for both parties if all goes well.
