22 y.o. now so not exactly a young lad still.
Easy to put forward several mitigating factors during his time here so far.
But now (this coming season) it really is time for him show what he can do.
I hope he becomes a key player for us, but tbh, as much as I've wanted him to do well, I just haven't seen it. Loads of effort, passion, energy, but very little end product (control, passing, assists, goals).

I've asked a few people if they're buying a membership. The range of answer's, thus far, have being:
    1. Might do.
    2. No. Too expensive.
    3. I'll pick a few games to go to, but I ain't buying a season pass.
    4. I'll see how they start the season, then depending on that I might do.
    5. Are you ****ing nuts?

Hull has and always will be a low wage city, mirrored by a lower than average national cost of living. With increasing food costs, mortgages, cost of energy etc etc many people just haven't got the bread to folk out on City...Sadly, nothing much changes around here.

Only 2,000 of those were new though. A disappointing response really compared to other clubs?

I think we just have to accept we have a poor fan base numbers wise. The only way it will ever increase by any great numbers is if/when we go back up and the Prem tourists come back.

People can, have and will use any of a number of excuses but the fact is w just don't have the dedicated numbers

It is not a load. Have you seen what other clubs with worse owners and more problems have sold and at higher prices?
Derby in League 1/have sold over 6,000 more so far. We couldn’t fit 10,000 of Sunderland’s season ticket holders into our stadium.

Some valid and reasonable reasons,I get that,I'm struggling a bit myself at present due to the wife not grafting and I'm a part-time worker. That said, there are many people less well off than myself through no fault of their own. I'll get to games this season(home and away)...God willing.

The one's who say they'll see how we start the season are band-waggoners,we've got a long history of them.

Unfortunately that is true. And when the tourists come back they will be more interested in the other team’s players, applauding them off the coach, asking for a wave and telling any City fans getting behind the team to sit down and shut up.

I don’t think you can underestimate how the Allams destroyed the fanbase. People just stopped going, peoples love for football went and their Saturday afternoon habits with them.

It will take time to rebuild this and I’m sure Acun is under no illusion the job he has in hand. He is doing everything he can to build this back and we now just need some success on the pitch and this upward trend will continue.

12,000 up to 15,000 season ticket holders represents decent progress - Acun will want more and will probably get it over time. He’s in it for the long haul and I for one am delighted that he is.

Whereas I feel like I've seen a fair bit from him that suggests he can be a top player for the club. That's the thing with football, we all see things differently. Paul Ince thinks his son is Pele!

Think this more highlights the issue that he gives the inside scoop to some lucky few that go on holiday. All it takes is someone to tweet it out and its on the internet

Cities with as low wages as Hull but higher cost of living meaning less disposable income still find monetpy for their team.
There was a report quoted in a paper recently saying the cities with the lowest wages were Leicester, Stoke, Hull and Middlesbrough. But when you took cost of living, rents, mortgages etc into account Hull and Middlesbrough dropped out of the top five. Hull down to 23rd so 22 other places with less disposable income than Hull. But, Leicester and Stoke were still in the worst five. Brighton get good crowds but somewhat surprising they were the worst city for disposable income.
So the thing about Hull folk not having enough money is not correct. It is a case of not enough people are that bothered about City. How can they say too expensive when clubs like Norwich and Wednesday with memberships costing £250-300 more than ours have sold 7,000 more than us so far?

Some people used the Allams as an excuse. Derby, West Brom, Sunderland and Wednesday and others have had worse owners than the Allams but the fans did not desert them even when some of them went into League 1. Coventry have been shunted from pillar to post playing in different cities but as soon as things have bucked up they have sold over 20,000 season tickets. Funny how only Hull folks found other things to do which stop them returning,

I would rather have 4000 hardcore dedicated fans in the championship than 30,000 fair weather fans in the premier league.

They've been out the door for a year and a half.If people haven't bought into the new owner by now, there's a reasonable chance that they won't.For some people the Allams are a convenient excuse and I'm inclined to agree more with the B&S fan club that personal finances and priorities overrule the football at present.

I know this forum only represents a very small section of Hull City's support but the general consensus on here from those that couldn't abide the Allams, was that the moment they were gone, their direct debit would be re-instated?

    Fair comments....
Brighton.. I've been there...Its posh, especially Hove...Its like Hornsea on steroids...Loads of money in Brighton & Hove. Reflected in their fan base, which will be higher than ours, or at least very similar, I would have thought.
Ditto with Norwich...Massive FC are massive fc. They'll have good backing.
Plus what I failed to mention was egg-chasing. A lot of those I chat to are pseudo type egg-chasing numpites.

Sooooo to sumerise today. No new signings confirmed. No players sold.

Castro drops the bombshell we are not the best supported club in the world.

Plus if the Saudis offer 20,000,000,000 for any players we should chop thier hands off.
