That's always a rumour for every player. Arsenal don't want him, he can do far better than West Ham, Fulham and Brentford, and there are big question marks over Spurs and Chelsea. It takes a special kind of waster to be drawn in by the bright lights of London, see Loic Remy rejecting us for bottom of the table QPR.
We need to sell someone to help us balance **** up for FFP. ASM is the only one that makes sense since he's a luxury player who's erratic and he's injury prone. If we can get 30m take it, and buy Barnes. Barnes, Almiron, Murphy, Gordon + Isak if needed are good wing options.
Player out - value (wage) Hendrick - £1m (40k) Lewis - £1m (38k) Ritchie - £1m (45k) Hayden - £3m (30k) Darlow - £3m (30k) Manquillo - £3m (35k) Krafth - £3m (55k) Dubravka - £5m (38k) Lascelles - £5m (40k) Fraser - £5m (42k) Total - £30m - (393k) Would make more sense imo, cuts the wage bill substantially more also while retaining a good player and losing10 players who are not going to be needed The issue we appear to have is wages to turnover ratio that needs to be at 90% this year (and down to 70% by 2025 I believe) but I think we were at 94% last season before Tonali arrived - yeah a few have gone but the wage bill is the main issue. We can lose 5x as much on the wage bill getting rid of the dead wood (still nearly 3x if we covered half the wages) than by getting rid of one player. Maybe we can do a package deal with some Saudi team....
Don't believe so - left Karius and Dummy out as they've just signed so not going anywhere but not seen Ritchie agree a contract yet. Was touted as being spoken about 6 weeks ago I think? Maybe not the right figures but if you get a little more here and a little less there it'll come out around that figure. Like I say wages are the main issue
I wouldn't be too surprised at £5m for Fraser. We've got Leeds preparing to offer £7m for Darlow apparently, and that says it all.
It won't be fees there's bound to be interest even if we think they're **** there's plenty of clubs that would take them but then they can't afford wages and the players run down their contracts.
But if we covered half their wage we still cleared nearly £200k off the wage bill. Even if we covered 75% of their wages it would still be more than selling ASM on his own cleared off the wage bill and while not everyone's cup of tea - he'd be more use to the team than the 10 listed above this season.
I'd be amazed if we get that for Darlow, but if Leeds do indeed offer such a ridiculous amount we'll obvious accept it in a flash. Fraser only had a very brief good spell for us in the whole 3 years a year and a half ago, he's been banished and made to train with the reserves. Anyone one will know we want rid and will be accepting low offers and not waiting for the right price. As said, just getting them out the club and off the wage bill is the main thing.
Thank you so much. Now we need to involve the Police as Hendrick is robbing the Club if he’s getting that much per week. Plus I need to see if my Careers Teacher is still alive so that I can sue him. If Hendrick can get £40,000 pw ‘playing’ football then I would be good for at least 3 times that amount.
Tbf the police would have much more important business than investigating, ie Xisco being paid £50k per week for the entirety of his 5 year contract. In 2008.
