"Can I come in and check your tv equipment "? "Yeah, course you can....but there's a fee". "How much is the fee" "It's £500 cash, payable in advance" Still want to have a look?....no?....see you then.
BBC presenter accused of breaking lockdown rules to meet another young person - report A new report claims the BBC star broke COVID lockdown rules to meet another young stranger. According to The Sun, the star visited the home of a 23-year-old he met on a dating app while lockdown was in force.
The BBC has over the years downgraded its service to a level that is now not worth the money the licence fee that pays for it. It was the standard all other TV stations were judged by. World class news/journalists....ground breaking drama, Blue Ribbon sporting events. Non of which is happening now. But the last few years the cover up of the likes of Saville, Stuart Hall, Rolf Harris and now this latest debacle, something needs to happen. Stand on its own two feet and live by advertising/sponsorship like every other company, or go down the subscription route, and give the viewer/listener the choice.
If there are any BBC presenters reading this, I’m happy to send you a picture of my arse for 5 grand . . . . P.M. me for bank details
"The presenter, who has been suspended, has not been named" says Reeta Chakrabarty on News at 10, standing in for Huw Edwards . . . . . . . . who's probably on holiday
The Sun have, perhaps, handled this badly although they're probably quite happy with the attention and sales ... ... but there's no excuse for the government and the BBC. All of the suspicion is falling on the whole of the BBC and it looks, more and more, like just another cover up. The government, as the ultimate boss of the BBC have had endless scandals and this is becoming another. Sunak promised openess, integrity, honesty, blah blah blah. Now quotes, as below, are appearing in foreign media, while there's virtual silence from those in responsibility imo. "Many people already believed that Huw Edwards is the BBC presenter who is accused of paying a teenager for explicit images but there is no official confirmation yet."
Far too many unknowns at this stage for me to come anywhere near a definite opinion. The Sun are being very sketchy and seem to be changing their story now. If he's a nonce then lock him up and let horrible things happen to him on the nonce wing, but we're a long way from knowing anything of the kind.
Must.....contort.....issue......into.......government........failure....... Anyhow, I see there's now three or four supposed complaints. My guess is we'll know who it is by the end of today.
I don't the Sun have alleged any criminalising tbf. I think the scandal is that the BBC, at the same time they were heavily reporting the Schofield scandal, were covering up a scandal which may be worse. Even if all these allegations are totally false hiding won't make them go away.
Bloody hell, they're all at it Jeremy Vine is shamelessly asking this BBC presenter to reveal himself!!! What's the matter with these people.
The Sun mob are not daft. As far as I can tell they have not alleged certain criminality, but certain immorality, (not to mention hypocrisy, though that last is hardly a crime in public life it seems). The BBC will just glide on. Bashir..... Protected for ages when they knew he was very dodgy. Saville......Protected for years when they knew he was dodgy. Harris....Ditto This latest twat. The appalling behaviour towards Lord Mcalpine. Exonerated but slurred by them. Co-ordinating a raid with the police on Cliff Richard's House, ( even if he had been guilty, which he was not, that was outrageous). There are other examples too. Many of these incidents have produced internal, naval gazing inquiries, where "lessons are learned" . They aren't. The BBC has huge autonomy and has abused it for years. It doesn't know how to behave as no one brings it to order. It will linger on, lecturing and posturing, like a crazy old, disreputable uncle who has enough money to bully everyone into getting his own way. It stinks to the highest heavens, and it should be standing on it's own two feet financially. We'll see how much bullying the crazy uncle does then.
There were bound to be others. You don't go from being a normal bloke to being a weird perv overnight.
The Sun alleged the person paid a 17 year old for sexually explicit images, that's a criminal offense. I'm sure we'll find out just how seriously the BBC took the complaint but I'm not ready to condemn them on the basis of the information available now.
