    This speculation isn't healthy, but just with regard to that alleged Huw Edwards video, he left the BBC in April so it would be rather difficult to suspend him today.

    He was reading the news at the weekend. He was offered redundancy in April but declined.

    They've got to be concerned at the number of 'suspects' being raised on social media.

    Mind you, that victim must be calling hell out of their mother, as she's killed their easy drug money and they might have to go out and rob for it now.

    Claims made by the mother at the heart of the BBC presenter scandal are "rubbish", a lawyer representing the young person has said.

    In a letter to the BBC, the lawyer makes claims that throw doubt on the story that has dominated front pages through the weekend.

    It says the young person sent a denial to the Sun on Friday evening saying there was "no truth to it".

    However, the "inappropriate article" was still published, the lawyer said.

    The Sun has been approached for comment.

    The lawyer writes in the letter: "For the avoidance of doubt, nothing inappropriate or unlawful has taken place between our client and the BBC personality and the allegations reported in the Sun newspaper are rubbish."

    BBC News does not know the identity of the young person and has not spoken directly to them.

    BBC News has not seen any of the Sun's body of evidence, or the dossier the Sun reported was handed to the corporation by the family over the weekend.

    It's a complicated old story. The lawyer for the younge person involved has come out and said her mother is lying. God knows what the truth is at this point.
