224 required with all wickets in hand.

Still going to be tough with the way that ball is swinging all over and it’s going to be overcast conditions. Perfect for bowling. Starc is going to be the big danger.

Yeah it’s going to the wire. Duckett won’t last long, he’s really struggled on this wicket. We are going to need our middle order to step up. Root, Stokes, Fatty Bairstow and Brother Moeen. Just need to forget Bazball and dig in. All the time in the world.

They have two days to get 224 runs, all they have to do is NOT throw away their wickets and grind Australia into the dirt where their ethics belong

Smith breaking a finger dropping a catch would be a bonus

It looks like Monday could be a wash out, Duggie. Need to get it finished tomorrow.

It would be nice to keep the series alive.

One day would be enough if they play it smart and dont try to hit EVERY ball for a six, leave that to Stokes, her has to hit boundaries now as he has one got one good leg

I don't think they'll be throwing wickets away but they may not be able to help losing them. Headingley with overcast conditions is notorious for being unplayable. You can try and play defence and still get caught by the swing.

This could go any way. England are more than capable of putting in a professional display and grind out the win, or they could be 4 down inside ten overs, or even be 110-1 and then 135-7 on that ground.

It'll be over by tea this, one way or another.

Look pretty decent weather forecast up until mid afternoon, England need to make the most of that. It's a quick and true pitch, they just need to not play idiot shots.

No doubt Australia will bang it short and try to set traps, will see how that tuns out but we've fallen for it too often before and one or two will do it again. This only really needs one to get a big score, the rest can chip in around that. Root or Stokes again I reckon, the only two who can be properly trusted to see it out.

Decent enough start. No surprise it was Starc that took Ducketts wicket. Australia trying the short ball now. That doesn't work at Headingley, bowl on a full length and the ball moves that much theres always the chance someone will nick it behind. I think we lost about 7 of our wickets like that in the first innings.

I'm going to jinx it now but Crawley hasn't put a foot wrong yet. He's looked solid.

Starc again. Moving Moeem to 3 didnt work and has probably blew Brooks confidence.

    **** sake Crawley.

Drives a beaut and then just assumes he can do the same next ball, no need for that shot.

    Brook is a five anyway.

And Root doesn't like three, so I can see why they tried it.

Didn't work though, although it did mean Root came in happy at four.

Brook used to bat regularly at number 3 and scored loads of runs there. To give him one go and then change it mid match is a slap in the face and possibly a shot to his confidence.

Moeen has always been poor when pushed up the order.

He moved up because Pope is injured.

He hadn't played at three first two tests, he'd played at five. Seems happier at five.

I know hes been playing at 5. I'm just saying he's batted plenty at 3 in the county championship. Anyway, he's played himself in now and is looking good.
